Looks very nice but maybe you should look for more colors to improve your contrast. Actually, the only way to guess your material is by looking at the yellow color and the object shape. Maybe you should improve the way you work your surfaces by using sharper brushs ?

Yeah I could definately work on my brushes. Right now I use a standard brush with pen pressure.
I should read up on what setting does what. I will also work on some more contrast in terms of color. I tend to go for the same color but a bit darker. Feel free to do paintovers guys.

texture quality is good, it's just the palm fronds look slanted to me, dunno what reference you're using but it looks more like a pile of rocks on both textures.

I actually thought it was a stone pillar.

Yeah I have been hearing this alot and perhaps it is because i've done a lot of stone tests before.

It might be the deep cuts and the highlights that make it look more like stone. I am still reworking this. I'll post some progress tonight. Cheers for the comments sofar!
