  1. I'm afraid the fog is one of the things that might throw off players though, people like to see where they are shooting etc, but who knows : the looks are nice though, it could be a bit more detailed but it's a decent release i'd say
  2. Oh man ,the outsides of the buildings on the first few screens, i tried doing that in hl1 once now everytime i see a triangle i get depressed Looks fairly nice the map, i thin kthe theme i pretty neat too, all in all looks good, if it plays the same as 2fort i'm sure it'll be a kick ass addition to FF
  3. Ok ,going by this test, what kind of system specs you guess will be needed to play the game alright? Got an am2 3500+, 1gb of ram (need 2, i know ) and an x1600 ati card, I'm guessing all 3 of those need some upgrading?

love playing this game, the tricks are really cool to do, since i skateboard myself, i can guess hhow most go ,but it still takes a bit of practice ,finaly a skate videogame that's actually leaning a bit more towards realism love it.

Filmpje1, filmpje 2 ^^ anyways, i liked the looks of your desktop gorion, until i scrolled right and saw mario if it was just the glowing hand.... ^^ but i guess it's better than my 'wow, accoriding to this thing ,you're gay' desktop image ^^ or on the other pc 'HA HA I'M A C***' rivers of gore wallpaper >.> i need something normal
  7. Yeah ,that second piccy is cool, what kind of place is that looks like some cool metal or drum n bass (or something else evil) video clip location

  11. I think people are getting used to new engines for new releases these days, hl2, unreal 3, crysis, all on the way. I think Fear1 was pretty good, and if fear2 is the same, it'll still be pretty good for those who really liked fear1. seeing as they let their fanbase pick the title, i thin kit's really aimed at their fanbase, and not so much to attrackt new people, just to please the fans and let them have some more fun with the original concept of the game. I'm sure there will be improvements here and there, but i think this game was aimed at people who actually liked fear 1, most negative comments on here come from people who don't have the most positive opinion of fear 1 anyway, and it'll be hard to like a new game if it's so similar to the first one which you didn't like. I enjoyed playing Fear 1, and the expansion pack thingy, and i hope i'll have as muhc fun with this title, i'm glad they didn't switch to some 'oh my god gfx!' engine, because my next computer upgrade won't be any time soon anyway ^^
  12. Do they giv shots for rabies etc. or do you have to sort that out yourself? (aka going to the docter and asking for rabies shots for your latest job interview?)
  13. Add me on msn, i can help you out a bit , igive guitar lessons to begining guitarists in my neighbourhood, i'm no pro but i can help you get started on learning the basics (chords, basic scales modes, finger positioning, relaxation excersizes, speed training, memorizing tecniques, basic blues, metal, jazz, classical/neo-classical music maybe some more advanced stuff if you're already familiar with those things) and starting to create your own sound / music. born2shred 'at' gmail.com (shit now this addy sounds even more cheesy lmao)
  14. rofl - Soundtrack by Linkin Park. That would be one of the most pathetic features everrrrrrrrrrr
  15. Awsome stuff, loved it in WIP, love it even more now awsome map dude!
  16. I'm getting pretty sure it's not lol, damn 23 is even worse than 16 EDIT finished em all now
  17. As you stated it, a simple layout is often preferred by most gamers, since it's easy to learn and get good at
  18. Looks fairly simple and ok i guess, how many acces points are there to the different floors?
  19. 24? 30? 16 is killing me >.>
  20. Damn i should really work on making a portfolio someday soon. sounds like a nice and well organized thing you've got going here, good luck to anyone who applies sure sounds fun aiming more at gameplay than visuals like alot of mods do
  21. mine's like duffys with older technology
  22. Either a basic drawing of the floorpan of the map including measurements or easier, compile the map, no clip out of the map upwards untill the entire map fits int the view, and make a top down screenshot of it, or do it i nthe editor ,might be even better. Layout is basically a floorplan, how and what directing people move in a map. If your layout doesn't work well for the game, it might ruin the playability of your map. Since hl2dm is less objective based like games of cs the most improtant aspect to keep in mind is people get lost easily if you don't provide them with good clues as to where they are , and keep the layout simple enough so they're not struglling to get through an endless maze of hallways etc. Also in deathmatch play dead ends are lethal, if you get trapped in a dead end you're doomed, unless ofcourse you have it there for a purpose (maybe a hard way to get a powerfull item or weapon. It's imo essential to have agood layout ,it doesn't have to stick to the base layouts people talk about (in cs stuff like a fogure 8 shaped floorplan comes to midn for easy balanced game play) but it has to run ok. It will also save alot of time redoing it if you test how the layout runs thought tthe map i nan early stage of development, before the stuff you are doing now, since redoing the layout / making changes takes alot of effort if the areas have already been optimized. Anyways, for a beginner (like i am myself before anyone makes any assuptions or whatever ) it's not expect your map plays like a professionally built map ,but it's a nice concept to bear in mind on future projects, or if you have alot of free time and are verry patient, on this project.
  23. Note that the people here are trying to help ,but you mustn't let them drag you out of your own view of the map too much. You've made some superb changes to the map based on people's comments, but if you like th bricks more, why not keep them? If you're of the opinion it 's better this way, it's your map. Otherwise you'll get a map that you've build based on the communitys idea, not yours. There's plenty of factoy's / warehouses that use just one brick type. Anyways, looking on from the first screenies, and seeing the improvements, this map might turn into a pretty nice one indeed, good example also of how cumminties can help a designer improve, but try to not take all the feedback and translating it into litterally what you make ,but gather the ideas they give you ,and try to adapt them to your own visions and ideas Try to think about why people think certain stuff should be changed, and the ncome up with your own solution to tackle this idea, in my opinion this teaches you to think more creatively so you can add all these details and improvements yourself i nthe next map, and get feedback on different things, which you could then again learn stuff from for future projects. Anyways, I thin kthe maps looking alot better than when this post was started, best of luck finishing it, and keep gameplay and layout in mind maybe post a screenie of the layout of the map for people to comment on, layout is asmuch if not more improtant that the nice visuals people are helping you on now
  24. If you simply set up a paypal accoutn he could wire it through that i guess, it's a pretty effective method of payment for such situations
