Spellbinder Posted September 29, 2005 Author Report Posted September 29, 2005 Bullshit. You think that snow and cold is a high factor when comes down to suecide? I say not. Some people, dosen't like the cold and winter, like me, but its a LONG step to suecide, and there's often more things behind it if someone kill themselves. I had a friend who hung him self, that is the only person I know, even far away, even heard of doing it. But he was tragic, his life sucked, no grades whatso ever, no real future, only watched movies all the time. It's just sad. I must add, that he killed himself in the middle of June, the funeral was two weeks later, ~30C hot. Not even close to the winter. When it is cold and dark for so long, especially up north in the winter where you maybe get 5 min of sun in the shortest days, it makes you lack of certain vitamines which make you feel less active, and it can go down from there, nothing says you have to kill your self right at that moment, but one thing will lead to another untill finally you dont want to be around any more. As you said there is probably other stuff going on aswell, but if you would have lived in a sunnier country maybe you had bigger chance to get out of it. And to top it of, its a stated fact from professors/and medical personal that the cold and darkness up here makes ppl feel more angst (sp?) and depressed. Spellbinder. Quote

Actually, the parts where population counts, like here ~3Hs by car up, and below sthlm, the sun is minimun 5H day, when its as dark as it gets. And also, the vinters in sweden isn't that hard, the climate here in sthlm is compareable to NY in many cases. It even so, that there's more snow there sometime. There are winters here when the temp just goes below 0 that isn't much. Quote
