PogoP Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Out of interest, who worked on the Forest level, HP? It's great! I just wish there was a centralized location for all CryEngine3 support, I'm sorta just stabbing in the dark when I'm doing my own stuff! How do you generally go about creating the terrain for your levels? Just handsculpt it in the editor, or do you use some sort of base heightmap? Quote
sarge mat Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 A video tutorial series that went though everything (with in reason) for this engine would be great, possibly just spoilt from the amount of stuff for Unreal and Source at this point but, I find learning from the wiki quite hard. Quote
PogoP Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Edit - Just found this: http://freesdk.crydev.net/display/SDKDO ... ng+Sandbox Seems to be a pretty decent document! Quote

Gloglebag Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Wasn't the editor already out without having to signup and login every time you want to use it. Quote
knj Posted August 21, 2011 Report Posted August 21, 2011 Thx HP for earlier rep, but i have another problem: accordingto crydev.net in terrain editor i can Lets you import an 8-bit.bmp, 16-bit.pgm or a 16-bit.raw image to be used as new heightmap (the size of the heightmap must be the equal or smaller than the current heightmap resolution). but got "load image failed" every time i tried. I tried with 16-bit .bmp, with .raw and still nothing, any tips ? ok, problem solved, i was saving bmp files as 16 bits, not 8 bits Quote
-HP- Posted August 21, 2011 Author Report Posted August 21, 2011 I don't remenber 16bit BMP's ever working for me, I always used 8bit BPM to import terrain heightmaps. Quote

Mr. Happy Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 Yay for crytek! I was really dissappointed when I heard crysis 2 wouldn't have sdk and now I am really joyous that it is out! Crysis 2 has an SDK. When it was released? Quote

sarge mat Posted August 28, 2011 Report Posted August 28, 2011 The crysis 2 sdk was June or July I think. Same time as the DX11 patch. Quote
knj Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Ok, i think it's time to ask this question, in bottom right corner of the SDK there is "Xbox 360/PUSS3 not connected", how i can connect my PS3 and try my map out on my console ? and do i need Crysis 2 for ps3 to do that ? Quote
-HP- Posted August 29, 2011 Author Report Posted August 29, 2011 You need a dev kit for that, and to order one, you need to be a certificate developer. Quote
knj Posted August 29, 2011 Report Posted August 29, 2011 Got ya, i was hoping there is some way just to play around between console and pc Quote
