von*ferret Posted July 31, 2006 Report Posted July 31, 2006 offices are cleans. Schools are clean. Stores are clean. your homes were clean once. Pulling off a clean detailed and itneresting texture is more difficult and I think more challenging. Nothing wrong with dirty textures, but I'd love to see how you guys pull off a clean texture. PhilipK Posted August 1, 2006 Report Posted August 1, 2006 Everything has just a little dirt or damage. Even that clean office wall has some minor shit. But yes it can be very minimum and it's important to concentrate most of the dirt to the edges. That goes with almost all textures imo. Making a clean texture nowdays also involves a lot from the spec as well of course. But yeah it can be harder to make clean textures. You have to know when to stop and try to add just enough dirt so it won't be too much. And you will need to pay attention to more subtle details so the texture won't seem too empty. Quote

Spinlock Posted August 2, 2006 Report Posted August 2, 2006 I attempted something a bit different... cooled lava. It turned out better than I thought it would. Just an experiment though; I was trying out some new methods. Renders with normal applied: Quote
Nysuatro Posted August 4, 2006 Report Posted August 4, 2006 I can see the cloning on your diffuse. But when i see it with the normal it does not look bad Quote
