It’s not in the interest of many EU states to agree with this french court, given the export value of the games industry. It’s not even in France’s best interests even though they are a smallish player by comparison to other EU members. I think the worst thing that could happen here is Steam pulling out of France. The only dev in the world who can get away with an entirely free second hand digital goods market is Nintendo. Because they have full control of the hardware and a handfull of the most beloved IP:s in the history of video games. I wouldn’t like to imagine a world where every game deb (bar Nintendo) require a live service subscription in order to get around the used market regulation.

Did I forget to mention that I’m a short distance runner? ? I’m working on a modular set for a traditional nepali house. I’m about half way there, hoping to be done before the end of next week. -
Looking closer at the first class edition, the figure is ”soft bundled”, meaning you get the deluxe edition and a seprately packaged figure. Making things worse, you can already buy the Cloud part of the figure set separately (unlimited supply). This is a pretty underwhelming CE.

Yeah I like it too, I used to have that shit on a poster as a kid. Can’t justify the extra €200 though, especially not when they are deliberately milking it for nostalgia. ?

Hey, I cooked up some ground materials/blends. The snow does not look as blown out at regular player eye level. -
I ordered the deluxxxe edition, which is that up there minus the figure and the carbuncle summon.

Oh boy, a €200 PVC figure, which would have been €50 if it was a no name IP. ?

That would be ideal, though it depends if we’re able to make it look right using props, since custom particles in csgo doesn’t work. We’ll try. -
FF7 remake combat looks dope. The game is going be dope. Best in show.

I use Blender for all purposes. It’s not as performant as zbrush, but it gets the job done. ? -

I made a first draft of a skybox to set the mood and direction for the level. I wanted to put extra emphasis on the mysticism associated with the Himalayan theme. -
Now that’s pretty wild. SDK please. ??

Definitely in the same region, though more akin to Nepal and Bhutan -

I’ve ditched the junior part, I’m a plain old Level Designer now. ?

Gota be honest though, A Dance with Dragons was not a good book. The decline of the show is consistent with the decline of the books.

I got to level 83 and BP level 55 until I fell off hard. I got good enjoyment out of it but that’s the end of the road for me, and that’s fine! Game’s pretty good but everyone I’ve spoken to felt it’s not doing a great job keeping players engaged. I’ll keep an eye on it for curiosity’s sake to see if they can get people to return for season 2.

The FF7 remake is going to redeem the franchise from its downward trajectory after FFX. If you never had your mind blown when stepping outside of Midgar for the first time, realizing the city was only a smaller part of a larger (content rich) world, you missed out. These days I feel worlds are just big for the sake of being big. Top 3 gaming moments for me. That game has been an enormous influencer on A LOT of people working in the industry.

I remember back in 99/00 looking forward to each new episode. It’s been 20 years. ?

How to break in the games industry - an insiders' guide
grapen replied to Furyo's topic in Creative Chat
I’d compare it to a any healthy relationship: management trusts me and I trust the management. I finally have a job where I’m passionate about everything I do, and while I took a pay slash (I went from senior/manager to junior), it didn’t kill me. There’s this preconceived image of the industry that I don’t recognize now that I’m in it. I’m positive there’s a lot of truth to it, but I think it’s worth pointing out that not every job/studio ”is like that”. I’m going to have some cool stuff to share this summer! ? -
No, there’s no market. The pity timer for an heirloom item is 500 crates ($500), and the drop rate is so low, chances are good you won’t get it before the timer kicks in.

Ya boi unboxed the $500 Wraith knife. Oh right, Blothund main for lyfe.
