A little shout out to (aspiring) game industry pros
ChopperDave replied to Sprony's topic in Off-Topic
Wait, who got fired at Ready at Dawn? This is news to me. -
Which is all fine for co-op but not solo. And if people want to stealth by picking guys off one-by-one until all are gone that should still remain a viable option, it's just a lot slower than avoding guards. Anyway, I'll see what the CL says exactly when it comes out. Thanks for the response!

If that is indeed the case then the changes become slightly more tolerable. But solo stealthing any difficulty should be feasible, ven Deathwish. Especially Deathwish since going loud seems like a great way to get your ass handed to you. But respawning guards is bullshit no matter the difficulty. And according to that community changelong at the very least the guards shooting on sight occurs on all difficulties. I don't normally complain about patches but I love this game and hate seeing detrimental changes go into it. Do you know when the exact changelog will be available? All of the above being said I went ahead and picked up all the DLC since I intend to support the game anyway. I can't wait to see what new heists you guys are cooking up. Crossing my fingers for new heist DLC soon.

* You can only bag 2 bodies now. Considering there are no levels with less than 4 guards, it makes picking them off one by one pointless since you can only move two bodies. * Guards can respawn (this is a no-no in any shooter). Prevents you from ever stealthing solo because being patient and waiting for the right time to strike is the entire point of stealthing solo. By the time your window of opportunity arises the guards can come back, and now you're screwed. * Joker is not usable in stealth mode. Means you can handle 5 guards max instead of 6. I personally don't use Joker but if I did this would be irritating. * Guards shoot on sight. Makes it difficult if not impossible to dominate them if they pull the trigger right away. * You now have to wait for the van when blowing up the meth lab in rats. I can understand the desire to nerf rats speedruns because it felt like an exploit, but given the ridiculous amount of XP it takes to level up after 80, even with speedruns it's still a grindfest to get to 100, so in the grand scheme of things it didn't really make anything unbalanced. Maybe the boost system will make up for it and I'm judging prematurely, but that still hurts. That's just some of the things. You can read the stuff people have tracked down here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/218620/discussions/0/558749190693702109/ Basically I like to play solo, and when I solo I always stealth. The cleaner change and respawning guards has basically made it impossible to solo stealth any mission. I already thought it was bullshit that Firestarter day 2 had something like a dozen guards that respawned, but now that respawning has apparently permeated all maps and difficulties stealth is proper-fucked, even in groups. And before this update I could have listed a whole mess of bugs in the game that could easily ruin a heist, but they were just bugs, and thus easily fixable. But these were deliberate changes that pretty much force you to go loud and always have to play in a group, even if you don't have one to play with. It's infuriating. The stuff added for Deathwish difficulty, the subtle changes to maps (an extra fence, destructible enviros, indestructible cameras) are cool for that difficulty, but putting those changes into all difficulties, plus nerfing one of two play styles just took a ptoentially sweet update and soured it. Anyways, my 2 cents. Feel free to take it with a grain of salt. /rant

I was super stoked for the Deathwish update. But then I read about some of the gameplay changes made, and.....I'm gonna play something else. Nerfing people's ability to play the game a particular way that's not cheating that they enjoy is not OK in my book.

We're working on it guys, we're working on it.

Yeah I'm glad to see they finally finished it. Looks like it only got better since I left. Definitely gonna play this.

I recommend Tomb Raider. I did two playthroughs on 360 and think it's fantastic. It's clear they put a lot of time and effort into making it and it's a blast. That being said I didn't touch the MP, and rumor has it that didn't go so well. But you'd be getting it for the campaign anyway.
-
I'll take one if you still got them .
-
I don't follow. They announced season 2 is coming if that's what you mean. The trailer for it is on IMDB.
-
The first seasons of both House of Cards and Sherlock. Good stuff.
-
I did. It's about as bad as you expected from seeing the trailers. I still think it's better than Chronicles but that's not a very high bar. Pitch Black is still the best.

http://www.gdconf.com/ Early registration is now open. Who's going this year?
-
This is the only film I've seen in 3D where I felt the 3D actually improved it (and it didn't make me nauseous). While I'll admit the film was really good and everyone should go see it, I'm not really in the same boat as everyone else thinking it's the most amazing thing ever. But maybe that's because I'm cynical and nothing really blows my mind anymore. That or I went in with high expectations (especially since I've seen Children of Men) and got what I expected.

What is the bizarre Fight Club thing going on with the header?

I think you answered your own question. -
Better late than never. I may pick this up again, but given that it's not going offline 'til next year I guess I'll stick with Torchlight 2. On a side note: did anyone here pick up the console version? The demo was pretty solid but a I played the PC version extensively so I felt like I was just re-treading familiar territory and wasn't convinced I should get it.

No, you're not alone.
-
I was kinda surprised it was Scott. It seemed way more like a Coen Brothers movie. Either way, looks great.
-
"What are you doing?" "Killing monsters." I got hard.
-
None. Build up those callouses. If your palms sweat too much and you feel the weights slipping then buy chalk. But I doubt you'll need it.
-
It does. I hope you stretched when you were done. For those of you who want to massage the muscle, you may want to look into getting a foam roller to iron out your trigger points. They can really help, especially if you have a particular muscle that's tight or in pain.

I wouldn't recommend HIIT on a daily basis -- if you do it properly it's pretty taxing on your body, so I'd do it every other day at most. HIIT on your non-lifting days is a great strategy for getting some cardio in whilst also burning off some fat. LISS cardio would be better for a marathon but it can also be detrimental to your efforts to maintain lean mass, so be cautious you don't overdo it. If you haven't been running in a while you're gonna remember just how awesome shin splints are.

Skin caliper. Those things are notoriously unreliable. You not only need a hight quality one (electronic != high quality) but someone who actually knows how to use it properly and consistently, which is a toss up. Your best bet is to try and find a place near you that does hydrostatic weighing. I use it and it gives extremely accurate results (down to .01% BF). If you really want to get your caloric intake and macro split on target you need to know your BF%. Once you know that read this thread to find out how much you should be eating: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=121703981 Though the formulas in there work better when you're a little bit leaner. So maybe when your BF% gets under 20 you can really start honing in on the diet. Until then common sense can go a long way .
