  1. Haven't played a Souls game since Demon's. Tis looks like it might get me back into it
  2. What sorts of books/movies is your dad into? If we knew the genre giving him a game in the same genre may be a good start.
  3. There may be a difference between sparkling/non-sparkling water, but unless your tap water is inherently nasty it's fine to drink that. No sense wasting extra $ on bottled stuff.
  4. Man, if it wasn't for Howard Belgium would've had about 10 goals. That US defense was abysmal. Still a great game to watch. Absolutely nail-biting in OT.
  5. Anyone playing Shovel Knight? It's supposed to be amazing.
  6. Sort of. This is the third time he's done it so it really should be a perma-ban, but I guess it's better than nothing.
  7. Just finished my cut last week. About 8 months, went from 205 lbs to 167. Energy levels bottomed out . Back at maintenance now, and when my weight stabilizes it's time to bulk
  8. Been sitting in my backlog ever since I got it for free via the Xbox Live Gold thing. Solid game.
  9. You mean like this one? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-U28D590D-inch-Ultra-Monitor/dp/B00IJS6PCC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402870892&sr=8-1&keywords=U28D590

    PAYDAY 2

Lol thanks. The way stealth is now is slowly growing on me but I still think older maps need an overhaul. It seems like the new stealth was just wedged in to older maps whereas newer maps were specifically built to accommodate the new stealth. Overkill isn't shy about drastically changing the gameplay so I don't see why they wouldn't just redo the level design for those missions to make the new mechanics more acceptable. But I thoroughly enjoy Shadow Raid and can't wait to see what the new heist is. I'm still waiting for the heist to steal the nuclear launch codes . Are you guys gonna be at E3?

    PAYDAY 2

So, I've decided to give the game another try despite my disdain for the changes to stealth. I'm still pretty unhappy with it, but the level design for the new heists seems to make stealthing more feasible. Unfortunately older maps don't support the new stealth setup well, so missions like Framing Frame are now such a pain in the ass to do that no one really plays it anymore. Since it's obvious Overkill has no qualms with drastically changing the game post-release, I'd like to see them revisit the level design for older maps that were intended to be stealthed and update them to make maneuvering around guards and cameras easier. Went ahead and bought the latest DLCs since they were on sale. I've only tried Election Day once so far, but I love Shadow Raid. Not so much the guys who show up in the chopper (that was unnecessary) but overall an awesome mission.
  13. Almonds are calorie dense, so be careful how much you snack on those. Greens might be better. More bland but veggies are good for you and are high volume/low calorie.
  14. I'm still hoping the women's US team goes instead of the men's. That way we at least have a chance.
  15. Increased protein intake, until your body has adjusted to it, will keep your colon on its toes. But I've been downing shakes for years so my body is accustomed to it and I don't have the shits anymore. Now, if I happen to go out to eat for some reason, which 99% of the time I don't do, that can bring it back...
  16. Wait until later in the year when 4K is in full swing. We'll start seeing more powerful vid cards and new monitors so the price should start dropping on older ones. I hope.
  17. As promised: SSD: Samsung 840EVO 120GB -> I second every one else here. Having an SSD as your boot driver makes launching your PC infinitely faster. HDD: WD 1TB Caviar Blue -> For storage (music, movies, games). RAM: Crucial Ballistic Sport 2x4GB DDR3 1600 -> Cheap and effective. The performance difference of going above 1600 is miniscule so don't waste your money on anything higher. Plus if you reall want you can overclock MB: ASUS M5A99FX Pro R2.0 -> Solid MB with plenty of expansion slots. Supports SLI/CrossFire and the BIOS gets frequent updates. Be advised though your video card can easily cover one of the SATA jacks, so make sure your SATA cables are plugged in prior to installing your video card. CPU: AMD FX-8320 Black -> Cheaper than an Intel CPU and just as good if not better. Allows for easy overclocking even on stock voltage if you so desire Heatsink: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo -> Normally I use the stock cooler since I traditionally don't OC but this was cheap and highly rated, plus I wanted the option to OC to be available for the future. Be advised though, this cooler is a BITCH to install. PSU: EVGA Supernova NEX750G -> EVGA has terrific customer support, hence why I went with them. Fully modular and 80+ Gold rated. This PSU uses multiple 12V rails running at 20A each instead of one massive 12V rail. I can't remember the specifics but there is some issue where if the 12V rail exceeds a certain number of amps the PSU can't shut it down quickly enough to prevent circuit damage should the PSU get hit with a power surge. Case: Fractal Design R4 -> We have the full tower version at work and I love it, so I got the midtower version. Extrememly quiet, tons of room for extra fanes, built in filters, and even has cables for a fan controller if you want one. The case is steel though, so expect it to be a bit heavy. Got all of this at Microcenter in-store. $750 USD after tax, but I still have $50 in MIRs to send in. I pretty much used HardForum as a guide over a few months to figure out which parts I wanted. Still need to upgrade my vid card, but 780s are still too much for my tastes at the moment.
  18. It could be posture, but it could also be a shitty desk chair. What kind of chair are you using?
  19. I actually bought a whole new rig minus video card over Memorial Day weekend (thank you Microcenter). I'll post what I picked up when I can
  20. Never got around to playing either game. Might have to pick this up.
  21. The movie was meh. The human part of the movie only really shined if the scene had Bryan Cranston in it (bless him for doing his best with shitty dialogue). Apart from him the monsters really carried the movie. I had some hope for Ken Watanabe but he spent most of the movie with a bewildered look on his face. At least the monster fights were pretty cool. All in all, I'd say it's worth a watch on the big screen just to see giant monsters duking it out (same reason any of us went to see Pacific Rim). Just remember to switch off your brain prior to viewing.
