Thrik Posted June 21, 2005 Report Posted June 21, 2005 Battlefield 2 is just a genuinely fun game, in a way that I have honestly not experienced in a long time. It's the type of game that I can play with everything turned to low and it looking like shit, and still really enjoy it despite the crap visuals, purely because it is so goddamned fun. I'd imagine that many people think the same, and I really cannot see how anybody can't enjoy this game without having some kind of unrelated grudge against it. Best game in ages. Can't wait to buy the full version. Here's hoping for Battlefield 3, continuing the logical progression into the near future -- think C&C: Generals. ;D Quote

Crackerjack Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Picked up a copy today and man oh man... it is a lot of fun, though not as emersive as bf1942. In example, theres no subs, or battle ships. And only 2 kinds of helicopter and only 2 kinds of planes. Then all the ground vechiles which are alot of fun, but nothing thats really missing from the demo. But even though, nothing beats sitting gunner on a black-hawk and gunning down infantry crossing the bridge. hehehehe Quote
GrayFox Posted June 23, 2005 Author Report Posted June 23, 2005 I think I'll wait for the price to drop... no point in paying 50 euros for a couple of new maps. Quote
Taylor Swift Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 The demo was not nesesarry, Dice should follow the Valve method and release the game first, the demo was not amazing. Quote
Thrik Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Uh, the demo is probably what has guaranteed BF2's general success, managing to impress almost everybody who's played it, including those who disliked the previous Battlefield games and would almost certainly have never bothered trying it out otherwise. Its popularity is pretty clear due to it managing to equal HL2's global online player count at times, and it getting rave ratings everywhere. Quote
kleinluka Posted June 23, 2005 Report Posted June 23, 2005 Exactly. I never played the original. But now I have played the BF2 demo and love it. Definitely gonna buy the full version. Quote
