I have to say, I very rarely have problems hitting people when I'm shooting people with the special forces weapon. I've often hit people easily on the top of that big crane whilst proned on the ground after about 6 seconds of burst firing (VERY IMPORTANT IN BF2).

However, I sometimes get what I can only assume is a bug with my special forces weapon where it will only fire in semi automatic mode. Is this some bind I'm accidentally hitting, or some crazy bug?

Try pressing the # key that coresponds to the weapon. This will toggle the fire rate. If you already tried that, then I'm clueless.

As for the game itself, I'm partly disappointed due to the lack of decent physics and breakables. Everything is just so static as always, contrary to that cheesy trailer that was released earlier.

I want to be able to drive thru those ridiculously weak looking wood supports holding the metal alcoves, to be able to cause damage to the oil pumps (it's oil for god's sake!) and every other small structure for that matter, to put trees on fire (temporary flames would be sufficient), to make stuff sticking out of the ground react if I do a full speed collision with a goddamn tank and not just bounce off.

pfft.. resources... listen to this guy! JK yes its on the border line of lag to begin with. Fucking CSS barrels is the last thing we need.

BTW, the birds are a nice touch, they give away a players location if you didn't notice.

My graphical bugs are gone and aiming is goin pretty well too.

But now ive got another problem, the game stutters sometimes (maybe loading scenery), and then when im flying a chopper and it stutters im suddenly upside down or into the floor

This happens to me every time I join a game and lasts about 30 secs. After a while all gets smooth. The reason why this happens to me is that max settings require a lot of RAM ("low" RAM causes swapping).

Try lower details if it bothers you.

reminds me of that bug in DC where if you changed direction too fast in the heli it would freeze the game

what could you set to low or turn off all together and not really notice

the difference. i really dont care for shadows, but is there anything else

And EA dislikes servers with no timelimit and/or unlocked weapons ... they ban them from the serverlist.

But apps like ASE (when it gets support for BF2) bypass such things and you can still join those servers if you have the IP.

The BF2 serverbrowser is the worst ever, period.
