Received an invite today and I can't wait to check out the new features! I am really excited about the customisation and transmogrification. How have you experienced it so far Sprony?

Very valid points Taylor. I started during Wrath of the Lich King so I was spoiled from the get go. I do see the X-realm issues though when it comes to playing with people you will never encounter again. What I do like ( and this is more for players without a lot of time to spend raiding) is the Looking for raid stuff. It gives you a taste of the content you wouldn't be able to see if you are not playing in a guild. My gripe with this is that it is way too simple. Anyway lets get back on topic and share your thoughts on the upcoming expansion. Will it make you come back to WoW if you left? What changes in the upcoming expansion do you fancy and which you do not?
-
No haha but I am a huge fan of both the artistic style and the game itself. Sorry
-
As said on Twitter the updates REALLY pushed the scene into the right direction, It looks amazing now!

Yeah the new character models will definately add a lot in my opinion. They did look dated (in terms of polygons and texture). I must say though that all the other Next Gen MMO's blend into eachother. Tera, AION etc all look the same and for some reason the world just doesn't grip me as the world in WoW does.

@Dark : Why does World of Warcraft need to move on? The story is interesting and the world is just so rich that i'm constantly coming back for more with every expansion. What should WoW 2.0 look like in your opinion (both in graphics and gameplay)? As for a new Warcraft RTS, that would be cool. I think that Blizz has their hands full with Starcraft though to make this happen. @Skjalg : MoP was not bad but not great either so you did not miss a whole lot. The new expansion seems to be more interesting on many levels. Only problem is you need MoP in order to play WoD.

Not a single thought / comment?

Alright I am officially stoked about the upcoming expansion. I would love to know more of the old Dreanor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LI4uga6ahFs Also they will revamp the older player characters Very very cool in my opinion. How do you feel about this new Expansion? Discuss.

Hope to receive one soon! Glad to hear the positive aspects Sprony:)

I just dug this shit up like a zombie but is anyone still playing this? I tried Minecraft for a while and im having fun with this but I'd have more fun playing with others.
-
Saw it this weekend and I loved it. The feeling of desolation is well done. Quite Ironic with ALL that space around yet you feel trapped.
-
I agree Sprony. I wanted to try other characters on higher difficulties, but after playing through the story 8 times on two different classes was more than enough for me. This will change now. Also thanks in advance Min0s/HP for adding me to the list. Brofist.

Looks great Sjoerd! Like Sentura said, pretty beastly doing this on your own (for the most part and especially in a couple of months).
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but the prefix to the map name is meant to show what type of gameplay the map is for.

I didn't go that far back into the topic but I just did. Having read this totally makes me understand why you do not like it. And hell I'll even admit I agree with you on the loot, but still I enjoyed the game. What I liked about the game: -Graphics. -Killing monsters with a melee character felt right. The attacks actually felt heavy and damaging -Auto pickup for gold -Randomised environment (dungeons) -Random world events (sidequests) What I didn't like as much about the game: -Flimsy story -Going through the story 4 friggin times in order to unlock all your abilities and the higher difficulties. -Upgrading the Blacksmith and Gemsmith / Crafting in general. Being able to craft new items from found recipes is a nice idea but the cost of crafting that item were ridiculous. On top of that the stats on that particular item were random as well which made it useless to me. I still enjoyed Diablo 3 till the end and I really hope the new expansion will bring that which you currently miss in the game.

Put it simply: The game is just not fun. The core elements of the game are not fun. The environments are not fun. Whenever I play Diablo III all I get is frustrated, and that is hopefully not what Blizzard intended. So, again, why bother when there are games out there that actually figured out what Diablo III should have played like? This is by no means fact. This is your opinion which I respect and surely if you feel the game is not for you then that is great. However I do not see you point out what it is that you do not like about Diablo 3? What do you expect from Diablo 3? Have you ever played the predecessors of Diablo 3? Did you like those?
-
I disagree with some you said. If the new feautures do not appeal to you thats fine but it is NOT simply a patch. A patch is something that fixes a crash or broken mechanic. Adding new content, new classes and environments is an EXPANSION. Let a game be a game. People have such high standards these days.... We used to be content with just jumping on some stone blocks till mushrooms came out.

I really don't get why Diablo 3 gets so much flak. I have enjoyed it for many many hours and well worth my money. Sure the game and some of the decisions to put certain game mechanics in are not perfect but then again which game is? The game launched with major hickups but the important thing is not that they fucked it up but how they fixed it. They are one of the few developers that actually take the time to support the game for many years to come and to make it better. I know of no other developer that improves the game with every patch and delete or add major things to do so. I believe the new expansion will take Diablo 3 in the right direction in terms of rewards and customization. We shall see.

Cheers Thurnip! The tutorial I was referring to can be found below: https://www.3dmotive.com/f101801 I will have a look at the horns and see if I can beef them up slightly.

I really like the upcoming changes to the expansion. Every new paragon level gives you the oppertunity to boost certain stats(much more satisfying than just a few +3 stats). Enchanting also boosts the equipment without having to rely heavily on that one loot drop that works better for your build. Transmogrification is also something that i am really looking forward to. I hate the fact I cant change the look or color of the legendary equipment Bring it on Death.

I have been playing the beta for a bit and I must say I love the art style once again. The fact that the WoW lore and characters really appeal to me make this more interesting than Magic the Gathering. The effects are nice and the rules are good to follow. I will definately be playing this.
