Freaky_Banana Posted June 9, 2016 Report Posted June 9, 2016 Hey guys, I have a problem with my hammer editor at the moment, which has brought my work on oakwood to a halt. In my hammer editor all the entities are replaced with a small black and purple rectangle. When I compile the map, the entities are not in it. I have created an entirely new map to check whether the entities worked, but they didn't. I validated my CSGO and my SDK files, but the situation didn't change at all. I am honestly at a total loss what to do right now. Does anyone have an idea ? I'd appreciate any help a lot ! Cheers! Quote
Shibou Posted June 9, 2016 Report Posted June 9, 2016 Note: If I opened the same file that we exchanged via dropbox the entities worked fine and I was able to compile. So it seems to be not a problem with a corrupted file, the editor itself seems to be the problem. Quote

If he openes the *.vmf file (which works fine in my editor, and that i am able to compile without problems) his editor shows entities in a strange way. After compiling the entities are gone for him... Quote

spence Posted June 9, 2016 Report Posted June 9, 2016 (edited) It sounds like the .fgd file might be missing or isn't set in Hammer. In Hammer, go to Tools - Options, and look at the "Game Data Files" box. If it's empty, press the "Add" button to the right, then find and select the "csgo.fgd" file in the "Counter-Strike Global Offensive\bin" directory. Restart Hammer and open your map and your entities should be back Edited June 9, 2016 by spence FMPONE, Freaky_Banana, Squad and 2 others 5 Quote
