RaiseTheBarVille, our joint Half-Life Mapping Challenge
Armageddon commented on Thrik's article in Special Events
So how are we supposed to use HL1-style solider models? If we pakrat the models that share combine anims it'll change the combine for everyone after playing the map. Weird to have combine in a HL1 area. -
RaiseTheBarVille, our joint Half-Life Mapping Challenge

I second more time. So we can use Black Mesa content but only use Half-Life 2 content? Also can we submit our maps as minimods so that we can adjust/tweak a few weapons/features/hud without affecting other entries? -
If Hotline Miami 2 still comes out this year that will be my GOTY 2014.

Which game really made you fell in love with it's world and characters?
Armageddon replied to Sprony's topic in Off-Topic
I thought I was the only one that played this. Hotel Dusk was so awesome, such a cool world to fall into. I've been toying with the idea of making a mix of it and L.A. Noire. Love the lowpoly art too. The music had some great mood, it's a shame the sequel was so disappointing. Kentucky Route Zero is one of my favourite game worlds in recent years, it just keeps getting better with every episode. Kairo has a nice atmosphere. Many adventure games have worlds that I want to know more about, specifically Gemini Rue and Monkey Island. E.Y.E: The Divine Cybermancy, despite it's bugs, had some amazing world building and slick, well realized, character design. Hotline Miami has a world oozing of style. I can't wait to revisit it later this year. Fallout 3 is probably I world I revisit monthly and just walk around for hours, something always happens, the world just never ends, probably the best RPG I've ever played/enjoyed. New Vegas improves on nearly ever aspect gameplay-wise, but the world of New Vegas is just stale and boring to me, FO3 has got it all. And lastly, Deadly Premonition is a weird world filled with colorful characters, so much fun to drive around town and peek through windows. Very David Lynch/Twin Peaks. I love it. -
Downpour was very beautiful. The story was pretty good as well but the monsters were just boring humanoid black ink things and they all did the same attacks and movements so it got very repetitive.

Only the playable teaser is first person. At the end it changes from first to third and reveals Norman Reedus so I hope that's a nod that it'll be third person.

Hello Mapcore, it's been awhile. I actually released this mod a few months ago I just forgot to post it here. Keys is a Source mod, you just need the 'Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer' installed to play it. Download it over on ModDB or directly from the main site. Also you can get the fantastic original soundtrack by Logs From Borland over at Bandcamp right here. It's a pay-what-you-want and features more tracks than I was able to use in the mod. I hope you all enjoy it.

It's the best FPS of 2013 I beg to differ.

Looks like Borderlands meets Brutal Legends. Very awesome work.

ITT: Post maps/scenes that never saw the light of the day.

Didn't realize you were involved in TH:LS! Do you know what exactly happened to the franchise and to Neil? I think Neil just lost interest and the project died pretty much right there. It was a shame really, it could have been a great game with some extra work. Yeah, I've been following Lost Souls for a long time. What a gem it could have been! This makes me sad. -
I made a pillar, and a light model. Not happy with the textures at all.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Anachronox yet. One of the most underrated games.

THE DOOR CHALLENGE: Rules and Discussion

Can I change the door to be sliding? It would work a lot better with my idea. -

I'd like to have 1 map where you are teleported to another door with a different solution after you complete the first puzzle, I have a lot of ideas so it would be nice. I don't know if we are allowed more than one entry though. Also I can't record video in Source, a lot of people can't, do we absolutely have to do this? Also do we have to release the .vmf, I've spent tons of time working on a lot of my advanced logical scripting that I don't want just anyone to steal.
