  1. http://weblogs.variety.com/the_cut_scen ... -50-d.html Seems more trouble is heading their way ;X
  2. TLJ and Dreamfall are on my top 10 games list. They're really, really, awesome games. But I recommend you play TLJ first (point and click style), and Dreamfall second (more 3rd person style), since Dreamfall is the sequel. Both TLJ and Dreamfall are in the limited edition package. It's a great universe and a great story. If you like games like that, I'm sure you'll enjoy them
  3. Just purchased Earth 2160 off Steam. It's quite the lovely game, but I didn't get to give it the time it deserves earlier. And now it's on for $4.99 on Steam, so I just couldn't resist it.
  4. Well, for me, that depends on whether or not the client will actually keep trying to connect or not. If it does, I'd really prefer to be informed, since it'd save me the work of spamming reconnect if I know the server is in fact up or is going to be soon. On the other hand, (as is annoying me a lot with mIRC), I don't like to see the repeated message saying I still can't connect, especially if it steals focus everytime it pops up, so it should probably be kept short as a "Retrying..." message or so instead of a full error message for every repeated attempt. This is especially if you lose connection or know you'll be able to connect very soon, you want to know that it's still trying, but you don't want to get the error message for each attempt, when you know what's wrong. (EDIT: I didn't vote, as I opted for somewhat of a third option)
  5. Ah, another really excellent choice. My dad has that one
  6. Oh my god. Half-Quake. I loved that series!
  7. Is it a Boss TU-80? It's pretty much the best of it's kind, and I've had endless satisfaction from mine.
  8. Well, it was released yesterday in Poland. I havent had time to go for it when it hit the shelves. I dont have PS3 neither X360 so i waited for the PC version I just feel really bad for getting it for x360.. I haven't had time to play it much, so I'm not even past the first island yet, and now it's out for PC.. Now I can't justify paying the extra $20 for the console version anymore :/
  9. I decided to go with a Nikon for now, as it seemed to be the cheapest and the most compact. I haven't bought it yet though. I put it on my wish list for Christmas, just to see if I can get out of actually paying for it The general idea is really it's supposed to be compact over everything else. If I go somewhere with the intent of taking quality pictures, I'll bring my DSLR, but it's nice to have a smaller cam as a backup I can just carry around everywhere and not worry about not being able to capture a certain moment. The quality is really just a bonus. However, looking at the features offered and the quality of some of the pictures I've seen from this, and other cams, I must say I'm amazed about how far they've come on this market, and how great these pictures look from such small and very inexpensive cameras. Thank you all for your opinions. I hope to have a cam after Christmas or through January (some other expenses just came up. Damn nightlife, damn girls).
  10. When are you not stoned? I'm giving my dad some books on business management, I think. And my mom.. probably an expansion for the sims 2. That is all.
  11. Funny I thought exatly the same thing a few days back, people at mapcore really love valve and their engine! I don't blame them, valve knows their shit, but so do other companies! While the other companies know their shit, it seems not a lot of other mod communities really do know their shit as much as the one for hl1/(hl2??) I've enjoyed my share of ut mods, but aside from that, what else I've played has been really sloppy (back in the days anyway), and it really felt like some of the other engines weren't really that good for modifications. Either that, or the people were just really shitty at it. But a lot of the mods just didn't feel right, whereas a lot of halflife mods just feel like they were just meant to be. And come on, Desert Crisis anyone? sure, it had a really shitty community, but the game was insane fun.. And had customizable heads for the player models! Along with weapon loadouts, cool perks and fun objectives. Hands down one of the best mods I've played on the hl engine.
  12. Especially me and dux. And Friechamp.
  13. I don't see your point :/ He looks kinda gay in the second picture btw.
  14. Who the fuck is Jared Leto And thank you to the rest of you
  15. Guess it's about my turn. Not the best picture - my hair is a mess after headbanging - but I'm sure you'll cope

    Fallout 3

Sometimes I think you're looking for issues stolve. The only odd thing I've had (aside from the odd jump animation and how they seem to think making a texture with tin cans and tires in it is gonna replace the depth of models), is a priest floating in the air at the wedding in Rivet City. I haven't had any sliding npc's either Oh, and then there was one time where I was sneaking up against a door and the turret on the other side of it apparently saw me, and though I had broken in, so it started shooting at the door, which made everyone else hostile at me too.. But really.. That's just a minor thing that you only really encounter if you're an idiot like me :X you really must be good at finding exploits, because it seems like you're just seeking out errors by doing things that could potentially go wrong. I'm not saying this game is perfect, and I haven't even completed it yet because I'm enjoying the side quests and exploring a whole lot. To me, it just keeps getting more and more interesting the more facets of the world I explore and the more people I talk to (though I sometimes wish they'd have BioWare'd the npc's a bit with some more dialogue not necessarily quest relevant. It's a bit sad that when you meet an npc you really like, all you can do with him/her is quest related, and once you're done, you can't really talk to them about anything else). But it's a really great game in my eyes, and it just keeps getting greater. Most of the things you've pointed out are really minor things anyway, that, in my case at least, doesn't ruin the game experience for me. If this shit should ruin game experience, then the animated textures from Deus Ex when people are speaking should have too. And the crazy voice acting (though that's really what gave it a lot of its charm for me). ..And most of these things I haven't even experienced in my playthrough. Another fun note, I love how I can finally in a game complete two sides of the same quest. I also love how some quests keep adding more depth to the world and all those little things certainly make up for the minor technicalities everyone is raving about. It's by no means a perfect game, but shit, since when is ANY game perfect? You guys need to get the sticks out of your asses, all games have issues.. Especially games of this magnitude. I remember a time where 7/10 actually meant the game was good. Now people won't play a game unless it's 9/10 or more. And if it gets 10/10 people start raving about small things and try to find ways to pull the game off it's supposed pedestal. Since when do you care what other people think of the game anyway? It's just a way to see what a general opinion is, and if you don't like it, well, guess what - that's okay too. Just don't play it. Stop ruining other people's fun. [EDIT]
  17. But to be honest, I've felt this "progress" as well. It seems that modern day gamers prefer to be held in their hands through the entire game rather than actually be challenged. The outcry when megaman 9 and Bionic Commando Rearmed illustrated that very well. Both are games that give no mercy at all, and people complained that they were too hard and it ruined their game experience, when that was exactly what made the experience for the rest of us (And to be fair, BCR wasn't all that hard). Then there is the "new" trend of waypointing everything. All games have come down to you just following an arrow through the entire game without really thinking about where or why. I understand it can be a help at times where you might be lost - and there it's a massive help. But really, that's just up to the game to make sure you don't get lost and at least add the challenge of letting you find something for yourself. It seems lately that everything is just given. I miss the times in morrowind where I had to follow a signpost to find the cities, or search around the city to find what I needed instead of just popping up a map and looking at the waypoints and points of interests. Granted, I spent a lot of time looking for things, but when I found them, it was my exploring that did it, and not just because some silly map marker told me where I need to go. I also seem to feel the difficulty levels get easier and easier. What used to be "medium" really feels like "easy" now, and "hard" feels like medium. So if you want a challenge you have to go for "insane" or whatever they call it. I don't know why they have to dumb all this down, but I partly blame the Halo generation of gamers. Not Halo in particular, I'm sure a bunch of you think it's a wonderful game, but the people who grew up with Halo as THE FPS really don't have a lot else to match it up with, and when they suddenly turn into the target audience, all the complexity we've developed since Doom sort of goes down the drain in an effort to make things more available to the attention-span of a 12 year old. I really miss dying in a game. It's been so long, sometimes I just do something stupid to get the feeling again.. But it's not quite the same. And I really miss having to fight for some advancement through puzzles or stealth or just plain STOP TELLING ME WHERE TO GO. Gaming has almost become as mindless as TV is now. I know a lot of people like to just sit down and play casually and not worrying about doing something wrong. But really, it spoils the fun for the rest of us when you do. We like to do something wrong. We like to have to use cleverness to complete a level with only 1% health, finally use all those grenades or mines we've been carrying around, and get that adrenaline rush and that sigh of relief when we finally find a medkit bringing us up to a total of 21%, at which point we start acting like we're invincible again. We like running out of ammunition and having to resort to close combat to finish off our targets and finally get some more ammo. I don't get why people just don't like a challenge anymore. I know these are just a few points, but if I actually took the time, I could list a lot more points that really just take most of the rush away from gaming and just serves to guide us by the nose to all our objectives until we've completed the game. Congratulations, you've now watched a movie - but instead of actors, you get sub-par graphics and bad voice acting.

    Fallout 3

Yeah.. That was a bitch.. And contrary to what you read or hear people say, don't shoot for the antennae.. They're hard to hit and just don't beat lobbing their heads off instead. It just makes them confused and they might attack their own.. Or they get frenzied and approach you even faster. So.. Yeah. Headshots from afar with the hunting rifle - combat shotgun up close
  19. Don't underestimate the governmenta

    Fallout 3

Aahhh aa yeah Moira is annoying as shit, but thats what she's supposed to be. I think the dialog is pretty solid, you have the same array of options as FO2, plus everything is voice acted and animated. It is certainly on-par with FO2 with sheer size and quests, there is just a huuge ammount of stuff to explore. I've got stuck in the landscape twice and had issues with a gun not firing a couple times, and once after I slept, there was some crazy black hole/tear in the space time continuum, but after I ran out of sight of it and came back, it was gone, so no real harm done. But other than that everything has worked fine, no crashing, no bugs, nothing. It definately feels like Fallout to me. I think the landscape and characters are spot-on. I mean, damn near everything is taken straight from the originals. I applaud Bethedsa for the time and dedication it took to so carefully emulate FO1/2 in 3d. +1
  21. The danes around my age or slightly older/younger will know how awesome this is... I grew up with this children's book, and thought it was out of production. Seems they reprinted it in 2006 It's, hands down, the most awesome children's book, ever, and I can't wait until I receive it. I'll definitely make sure my offspring will grow up with this cat too. It's nostalgia (Sorry about the rest of you, you probably won't get this )
  22. It's a great movie, you should
