Gears of war singleplayer map.

I applied for about 15 company that I'm interested to work with and have open junior level design position. I didn't know that I would usually get a reply even if I'm rejected. But man, it's going to be a couple of stressful weeks waiting for the reply.

So I applied at multiple game studios about 2 days ago. I still haven't heard back from of course. I'm wondering how long does it usually take for them to schedule an interview or send back an emailif they were interested in what they saw? This is my first time applying for a job anywhere so I'm kinda nervous.

I currently live in the US and I'm looking for a job as a junior LD(no industry experience) ,I was told that in order to work in Canada you need to have at least 3 years of industry experience, since the government won't allow gaming companies to hire foreigners with no previous experience in order to encourage them to hire Canadian residents. So my question is there anyway to get a work permit in Canada myself then applying for the position ? or did anyone had a similar experience before ? There are so many good LD position in studios located in Canada

They also gave Dragon Age 2 the same score, and the game was terrible. It was a different reviewer though.

I suggest that you buy the audio of both lectures HP mentioned from GDC vault. They are really informative lectures.

I don't think UDK is the easiest, it sure have the best video tutorials for an editor made by 3D buzz but the editor isn't really easy. Plus you'll be able to use any unreal editor ( UT and Gears) I would say Far cry 2 editor is very easy to use but there isn't much to do with it. Both CryEngine 2 or 3 are easy and flexible and they have some decent documentation and community support. I've never got to use Unity though.

You meant 3 or... you're saying this has nothing on 2? What I'm saying that U3 won't have the big impact U2 had on me not that U2 will be better.

I wasn't impressed at all with the demo. I got the feeling of been there done that when watching it. The graphics are also starting to look a bit outdated.

I still think that U2 will be the peak of the franchise. The game looks pretty good.

The sound design in the game is amazing. I always loved the sounds of Battlefield games.
