the account is a better idea.....but aside from the cd key i dont understand how you could figure out if someone is using a warez copy or a legal. eventually someone will figure out how to limit (impossible to stop) illegal downloading....but i doubt it will happen during the time of half life 2.

highly doubt this happening....so what if someone connects from a college network? they're going to block the entire campus from playing hl2...doubtful i doubt this is even going to happen anyway.....it takes more then one person to look up the ip's and then have them banned off valve....and i highly doubt any game publisher, designer or anything having to do with the game will invest resources into something they know they could never control.
