i remember using the original boomslang at ebgames like 3 years ago....it was a ball mouse but still 3x better than any of the other optical mice out there speaking strictly from a professional gamer standpoint i think that it doesnt make that big of a difference. the mousepad is 30x more important then the mouse, you can replicate the performance of any mouse with the appropriate settings (mouse accel, sensitivity etc). half life - any optical mouse will do the job (ms 3.0) will do the job....in ut or quake you would benefit most from a faster mouse. ive said it before on other forums and in a more articulate fashion....ITS ALL IN YOUR HEAD. a cpl counterstrike player can own with a napkin and ball mouse.....if you buy any nice gaming hardware (input hardware) do it for comfort not for skill. btw i typed this whole thing as fast as possible and didnt spell check or anything.....sorry if its full of run on sentences etc etc
