Chimeray Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 I finished a level and would like to make a flythrough video. I rendered every frame from within Unreal and dumped it to a bitmap (1280x720, 30FPS). Now I open this image sequence but I have no idea what the best settings are to compress it :s Any help? Settings in question: -FPS (guess I'll keep it at 30?) -Complete frames -Data rate Thx! Quote
Thrik Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 You'll want the h.264 codec, I usually use MP4 but I'd imagine Quicktime supports the codec too. Keep the frame rate as 30, not familiar with the 'complete frames' setting, and for data rate you'll want something like 10mb/s for good quality. Don't forget that Vimeo will re-compress it to a lower date rate just like YouTube usually does, so by aiming a bit higher you should ensure your video looks great. Quote
Chimeray Posted October 19, 2010 Author Report Posted October 19, 2010 Alright thanks for the info! I made a low res version for now, was already 28mb so I'll retry this weekend (can't upload big files on my dorm). Quote
e-freak Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 just make sure you put the index on the right side of the file. this is seriously costing the most quality when uploading to a webhost, if it has to reindex your key frames. Quote
