Oh man, those grass things, i know what you mean!

Sometimes they used to sprout themselves on grassy areas, have you noticed that?

Also, I used to search for leaks... before i found the god that is the Pointfile in hammer. That little thing has saved me hours in searching for leaks. I remember in HL1 you could spend a day looking for all of the leaks.

Looking very impressive. One thing no one has mentioned yet if your lighting - very good! The lighting makes that map.

Yeah, as all of the planned weapons have been completed and skinned, we have no need for skinners.

The classified is specifically for map texture artists for a HL2 mod.

As you guys may already have read in a previous post, we've filled the positions for level designers on the mod team, but, there is still one elusive place that needs to be filled; 2D artisit/s.

We're looking for a few talented individuals who would be able to recreate realistic textures for use in maps made by Zazi, Crackerjack and myself. We've a wide range of map settings planned, with a great deal of variety in the textures needed.

We're a fun, relaxed team; each member being of professional quality in their field, so, if you think you're the guy/girl for the job, either reply here, drop me a pm or apply here.

    Thank you in advance!

For more info, check Forsaken for more info on the mod, if you haven't already!

Checked out Nightwatch; it's incredible. I'm so overly impressed with everything you guys have done with HL1.

I wish you all the luck in the world but now i'm sad that I didn't get HL:S simply to play your mod when it is released.

    Great work!

No offence, but listen to these ppl. They really do know what they're talking about. To ignore their advice and solider on with this project would be foolish.

    Quote from Skjalg

Ok, so basicly, the slice tool is very fucked up and i should never ever touch it again (just like in hammer) ?

Bah! How dare you! The clipping tool is by far the most useful tool in hammer, thank you very much!

    Blasphemy.

I'm guessing the prop_static is not projecting shadows because a tick box has not been 'ticked' in it's properties. Right click and try that. If not, we'll keep on thinking.

In reply to the guy who posted some advice about mappers...

I totally agree with you. I will be undertaking all of the mapping in the first release. I'm incredibly excited the settings and locations our team decided on, and will have two very skilled static mesh modellers to help me fill out the world with detail rich props.

    I'm a very lucky guy!

All we need now is a texture artist to work along side me and the team to help add a completely fresh look to the maps. I used to do the same with Postman back in the day and we were an excellent team; he gave me some truely inspiring materials to work with!

However, it would be quite ill advised to hire some truely inspired tallent; i've always said that if a mapper is better than me, we'd hire them.

Update number 3 is complete and ready to show the world; we're just waiting for the HL2 buzz to chill a little, so that our artist's hard work doesn't go unnoticed. Possible update tonight or probably tomorrow. Thanks for the kind words

Blimey guys, gratz to the guys who are responsible for STALKER. Been following the progress of that game for over a year now. Very impressed from the first moment i saw it.

Glad to see the animations got a touch up - far more fluid now judging from the latest video.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R and F.E.A.R are my choice games for next year, without a doubt.

The mod sounds cool, although could we have some more details on the story and setting? What do the players try to achieve in the combat. Also, did you mean to say "Intense, Slow paced" combat? I didn't think you could have intensly slow paced anything.

While I feel the last post was a little harsh in it's wording, I'm afraid I do agree with it's substance.

Sounds like a man who speaks from experience.

There's a great deal of talent here on mapcore, i'm very impressed.

And yes, we are on the look out for mappers too, but I only mentioned texture artists because there's such a lack of quality 2d artists in the hl mod scene right now!

    I am the co-leader for a half-life 2 mod Forsaken.

I'm not going to go into great detail here, because most of the information you will need is on the website here.

We are looking for some talented texture artists to help create and build the eerie post viral apocalyptic world of Forsaken and if you think you are the man/woman/other for the job, then please apply.
