Hi Mapcore,
Since this is the place where people actually know how a good competitive map is built, I'd love your eyes on my project.
BELEK is a tactical FPS I'm making in Godot. Gameplay-wise it's very much in the Counter-Strike family: bomb-style objectives, tight angles, timings and utility. The setting is Rouen, the Normandy city I live in, so the maps borrow its narrow medieval streets, the docks along the Seine and the cathedral quarter. Presentation has a tongue-in-cheek, slightly trolly flavour; the gameplay does not joke around.
I come from cybersecurity engineering, not level design. AI has let me build things I couldn't have dreamed of tackling alone, but layout readability and flow are exactly where I need experienced people.
So: feedback please, lots of it. Choke points, sightlines, how to adapt real streets without killing balance. And if someone wants to collaborate on a layout, I'm in.
Launch will be free; afterwards it should cost around 5 to 9 euros.
You'll find me on LinkedIn as Metin SAYGIN, or via vernam.fr (my site).
I'll keep an eye on the thread and respond.
