Dishonored

The character design and use of 'magic' is very BioShock-esque. These guys worked on BioShock 2 so it's no coincidence.

That was just MP maps AFAIK, though, and Bioshock 2 MP blew. They took the COD RPG model except instead of going from one assault rifle to a slightly better one, you go from a revolver to a rocket launcher. Just a liiiiitle bit unbalanced and unfun.

Arkane helped out with the SP.

Then why have they made it look so much like source?

antonov. it doesnt look like source, but they're shading is probably using some of the same principles as they do at valve (only using positive half-lambert is one of the things they usually mention in their slides amongst other things, that are way over my head).
-
Yup they worked heavily on the lighting with Dishonored to give it this 'appearance', but it is definitely the Unreal Engine.
Also, I don't think Dishonored looks like Bioshock, it rather looks like Thief 2 on steroids if you ask me. (with all that Victorian inspiration)

This thing is at the top of my watch list right now.

Based off of some of the big names on the dev team plus the footage they've released I think this has really great potential. I hope it pulls it all off.
I remember in the vids one of the devs said it was mission based and in between you got back to your hideout, or something... I'm hoping there's some 'hub' levels we can wander around in to explore the environment, it looks like a fully realised world.
-
One of the devs said on a french forum that the hideout is indeed a hub level with various NPCs.

Looks cool but I really don't like the way the character moves around...
I don't know, there's something weird about how he traverses the environment without actually "climbing", and dropping down from everything in the way that he does... Looks a bit oldskool, only thing that's missing is a double jump

I like it more when there's weight behind the movement, hand-planting, etc. Not digging the cartoony style of that.
Enemies also don't really seem like a threat as a result? Blowing them away and such, I like it more when there's some struggle

Still high on my list though!

!It's gotta be better than the climbing mechanic in Thief 3 :derp:

The guy was using his powers willy nilly, probably unlike you'll actually be able to do in the game. You've always got to give a bit of leeway when you're watching a gameplay demo, because they're almost always on the easiest setting and frequently using cheats or console commands for even more advantages to the 'player'.

Yay, new "interactive" gameplay trailer, and yep, it's looking great:

Does look cool, it'd be nice to have NPC's in a game seemingly react to what the others are saying though, all the NPC's in this (and loads of other games previously) seem to just say random stuff and talk over each other, doesn't come across too naturally.

Man, this is my most anticipated game this year, can't wait!
-
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet
-
Shitty publisher/retailer deals, what can you do.
-
Pirate it.
No?
Oh, ok then.

I spotted this while visiting Paris with the missus. Now that's advertisement!

The game is out today!
I'm playing through Batman Arkham City atm so I'll wait a couple week before getting this, but for those who are not convinced yet, here's the review: http://www.gametrailers.com/reviews/m68kgw/dishonored-review
I'll avoid watching that tho, GT is usually pretty safe with spoilers but still.
