Description:
Our aim was to obtain a dynamic and fast gameplay by creating a map that offers in each room many possibilities. The player in every position has always different point of strength and weaknesses and is forced to keep moving in order to avoid death from an unexpected enemy on the back. Snipers and sharp shooter are more than welcome since the map offers different point's of view for precise shots.
The art direction idea is to create a sci-fi version of an unknown Heaven. The setting is a classic temple-like structure mixed with a futuristic and alien style.
The ambient is quite bare. Most of the details are composed by wall decorations. Because of that, the scene can be optimized using occlusion and normal map with low poly geometry. Lights and LUT profile put on evidence the strong light coming from sky and make the ambient idyllic, but the grey sky is a clear signal that the great times are a rembrance of the past. The temple became a place of battle as now, during the game. Signs of that are scattered along the map the two enemies left signs of the battle all around like burned wings and claws signs. Also the structures are demaged in some places.
