Hi there, i am the project leader from the modification Act of Duty for the upcoming FPS/RPG S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
The idea of our mod is simple; we want to make a multiplayer mod that combines realism and fun with a complex background story wich will bring the laxity from the US government and the US army under the attention. The story is based om some real facts from the past all put in a fictional setting in the near feature.
The game itself may look and play like any other FPS, however we want to make te gameplay more interesting by adding a few elements that stimulate teamplay and create unpredictable circumstances.
If you want to know more about the gameplay or the story, please visit the about page on our website at http://actofduty.oblivionlost.nl/about.html. Hereunder follows a list of features we are planning to implement.
Features
--------------------------------------------------
[*:3j4mgi0e]X-Ray technology
The enhanced graphics, day/night cycle, physics and weather effects make the X-Ray technology from Stalker the best choice of engine for the mod in order to create detailed interactive levels with unexpected conditions each time you play.
[*:3j4mgi0e]Intense, slow paced gameplay
The combination of the class system, the realistic objectives, and the unexpected factors, as named above, provide a whole new mulitplayer experience where teams wo play together and adjust their tactics quickly take the advantage over the others.
[*:3j4mgi0e]Class system
With the class system we want to stimulate the teamplay and give you the option to choose in wich part of the team you want to take place. Each class has its own choice of arsenal.
[*:3j4mgi0e]Story based missions
Each mission you play has a background story. You can read this story in the main menu. It also contains a briefing, so it's important you read this information before you are deployed on the battlefield.
[*:3j4mgi0e]Realistic character behaviour
Just like in real life, aiming, sight and speed will decrease when you are wounded. Concerning weapons there will be realistic ballistics, aim to sight, bullet penetration and more. They act like they would in real life.
Currently our team is a little short on staff and we are looking for good skinners, modelers, 2d/3d artists (for website art, wallpapers etc.) and concept artists who have some experience in the modding community. If you're interested in one of these jobs, feel free to contact me at robin@oblivionlost.nl (both msn and email).
Greetings,
