Does anyone have any idea what to fill this wall with? I searched so many references and tried to sketch something out but everything feels odd, I'm not sure about some windows there either it looks kinda shit with because I only have windows on 2 sides.

Why do i have a feeling that something is missing, because it should be brighter there because of lamp. If you want brightness to be like this then you should make the lamp broken or something, or else it makes impression like this It's a high quality Russian made light, that's all I've never been that good with lighting, but those lights seem to look funny when they case bright lights, don't worry they may not be very realistic but they swing when you shoot them!

Damn, that doesn't matter. Hight quality russian made lamp. Made me laugh. Lamps brightness looks like 100W but it doesnt light anything but itself I dunno, lots of people has eye for this, and then they become sketchy because of shitload minor errors like this

I'm not that experienced but I can help you if needed, because I have fond memories of Riga, and it will be so cool to have this type of building in a map!

However I do not have a clue about how 3ds max work I have something else, but I understand many people here are experienced with it so someone could help you a bit I guess!

I don't plan to make it anytime soon. And 3d artists mostly cost money

These are from Riga, aren't they ?

These indeed are from Riga, Alberta street. I live in Latvia so yeah. But to make these houses, i would need either to pay some 3D artist shitload of money for models or make them myself, but i don't have a single clue of how to use 3D Max studio.

It uses the main brick texture from Mirage, coupled with the wood texture to hold it together, which is also from mirage, it also uses planks that stick out, just like on mirage (and dust 2 @long) but with a different texture, and the windows are also used on mirage among other maps, if I am not mistaken.

I'm not saying that he should not do it, but to say that it has no correlation with Mirage, well, that is a bit of a stretch in my eyes.

I guess, if i want to make it unique, i have got to spend lots of time making my own textures and same goes for models Well, Im still experimenting there.

I still think you should carry on with it, you use the mirage textures, but in a new way.

I will, i will post some images later. It will be lots of work to change theme now.

That looks great... I think it would make a great alternate theme.

It has similarities with mirage, but it is quite different. Inspired of http://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-ph…photo/140812725

Heh, for me to change it to another theme, i would need to rebuild everything But once for all, i want to finish atleast 1 map That's not true. You can easily change the theme to something more old town ish. Like run down, with lots of rubble and stuff. Don't worry, do not doubt yourself, anything is possible if you believe *magical glow*

By more oldish and rubbish and bumish you meant this ?

    Here it comes..

To be honest, the inferno theme is boring, and has been used soooo many times now. If you have a set layout, I suggest that you change the style to something else.

Hello, my friends!I have been making this map for quite a while, because i got job, so i don't have much time, but i decided to post this map for some feedbacks. Anyways "oldtown" is just an temporary map name till i think of new unique one. I don't have much to say. Brushwork style has been taken from inferno and italy and has been reworked for my needs.I am going to change light_environment in time till i find the one that fits best. Ofcourse i am going to detail the buildings as much as i can in time too, but at first i want to make it ready for testing.I haven't made second bombsite yet and there is lots of not closed space. Link to workshop http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/fi…s/?id=434756741 Updates ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 06.05.2015 ---

    1. I am reworking brushwork style/theme to look somewhat older and more unique.
    2. I have added some new buildings which are looking way more older than the previous ones.
    3. Workshop has been updated ! ---> http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/fi…s/?id=434756741

I actually quite enjoy this, but lightning past monument is terrible. It could be as dark as bedroom in this map. Maybe even lighter.

Are you making inferno remake, because i noticed something interesting on roof for environment?
