    Three years ago I posted the third map I had ever created. Three years is a lot of time, and this map has taken up two years of it working on and off. I've just finished the final peppering of details, now it's onto the last optimization pass and uploading it to somewhere to be appreciated I suppose.

    As the title implies, it has no proper name. Originally labelled as apartmentinthesky_vX it's long changed away from that theme, leaving me with a to be named finished project. Any ideas?

    I'm not sure there's much else to say. The style, while all within the HL2-esque aesthetic, is all over the place. The room placement borders on surreal. Who puts a trainstation ticketing area in an apartment building with the main entrance being from a set of sewers at the same level as the ground level? I'm very proud of what I've been able to pull out of the Source engine visual wise, while still maintaining a respectable framerate in even the most poorly optimized of areas.

    I think we would all appreciate a cl_leveloverview x screenshot, as I'm still a bit confused on the layout.

    Honestly, in between making shitty CS:GO maps and planning said maps I spend alot of time replaying HL2 with mods, or just SP mods in general. I just can't get enough HL. Infact, I might just try my hand at mapping for Synergy, as it just released its workshop.

    This was a Garry's mod map I just stopped working on in favor of CS:GO maps. It was to be used for Prop Hunt, or Hide 'n Seek.

    It was based off of a apartment complex I had passed by. The actual interior was inspired by images from Google.

    The first shot of the Elevator Interior reminds me of Cube 2: Sauerbraten.

    Thanks for the thoughts so far, I'll get a radar working, remove extraneous cover and try and get a slot on the play testing server.

    De_Smoke takes place in the back alleys of a quiet European town.

    It features amazing puddles, a canal, a market place (Soon to be), a not very depressing overcast sky, heavy rain (Now with sound!), and basically anything else I think up.


    Terrorists are taking advantage of the low light and rain to destroy the towns market, and or canal bridge in order to cease commerce or block off river flow, giving the economic advantage to the super corporation (which is paying them.) that has its eyes set on the town, only seeing it as more factory space. Counter-Terrorists must stop this at all costs. CT intelligence knows that there will only be one explosive device, but two possible targets.


    I literally came up with the layout at three in the morning during a fit of insomnia.


    Holy bullox it's changed, that's all I have to say.


    Major changes:

    New A Bombsite,

    New Mid,

    New T Spawn,

    Better sexier, and cooler brush work,

    Displacement fun,

    Still meh lighting,

    Shit timings,


    Yeah, that's basically all there is to say right now.
