i've not played RO, ever, and i don't intend to. WWII bores the crap out of me. old rifles instead of modern tech? SNORE.
i might come off as ignorant and brash in this, and i don't really intend to. i don't doubt it's decent for what it is, i'm just tired of still seeing new WWII games pop up. can't we have a new war that the US will actually win so people can stop masturbating all over the last proper victory?
who knew that the setting could mean so much?

there are probably a lot of solid WWII shooters out there already, not sure why anyone would want yet another one. WWII has been run into the ground, resurrected, run into the ground again before getting reanimated into something unholy and run into the goddamn ground again.

another WWII shooter? PASS

and i got the feeling both will kick ass.
@ taylor: dude, ssfiv was hard to get into in comparison what sxt looks to be. the controls are so simple that it should be the easiest thing in the world. plus 4 player on screen brawling? FUCK YES, i've been waiting for that ever since i figured out i couldn't play def jam vendetta on my ps3

heh i actually meant the shots minotaur0 put up, i saw the trailer through to the end =)

probably not of interest to a huge lot of you, but nevertheless, this got me hyped as fuck. i guess if you're a tekken player, this could be your entrance into 2d fighting, and overall the presentation of this looks to be goddamn awesome. they've simplified the controls enough to let beginners roll better, and they've added some sick mechanics and gambles to the overall fighting scene. there are so many reasons to want this game, but i'll let this guy say it how it is:

i'm confused... are those in game shots?
and thrik: absolutely, an example would be LA noire. but the atmosphere being the most important part, it doesn't help that you're going around in favelas where the color palette is vibrant. noir is cold, concrete, dark and brooding. it's like a bad dream. the trailer showed nothing of that; and while i'm not skeptical towards the game, they do make it hard for themselves not presenting that which is the most important.
also, this reminds me of the dream sequences in max payne. where is all that going to fit in this? does he still have recollections about his wife and kids? coherence is important, and so far we've seen nothing of it.

Well those two games you mention were role playing games, where you are the main character, so FPS suits them pretty well I think. Syndicate was more of a strategy game where you control several agents.. actually a "hidden and dangerous" style FPS could suit syndicate very well =), but I doubt they went in that direction?
agreed, i'm a big fan of having players control different characters "at the same time".

How is this not like Max Payne? You have cello, guns, crime and narration. But yes, Max Payne definitely wasn't about NYC. It was about warehouses. Don't worry, I'm sure there'll be at least a few warehouse levels for the hardcore Max Payne fans out there.
It looks fine and I'll probably end up playing it.
it was also about a noir style comic. now while i think this could be done in sao paulo as well, it seems like they haven't paid heed to that. the winter in mp also played a large role in the game, i'm uncertain how they will handle the lax weather of sao paulo to give off that same vibe.

let's also discuss the color of the berets spetnaz use, clearly theyre using green ones.
-
playing crysis 2, and im seriously thinking of just laying it off for now. it's just no fun to play. you can only save at checkpoints, which means if you fail you'll be sent back half a level. again. and again. and again.

Well they're not all in black, they have all kinds of camo but photos are rare.. but my point was that their equipment is a lot more modern than depicted in those concepts ;\Also.. what spetsnaz are they? Spetsnaz is a slang of spetsgruppa, meaning "special unit" of which is divided into many different units, alpha and vympel of the FSB, OMSN, GRU, OMON... I can go on.
Battlefield 3, I am looking to you to show those silly people at IW how it's done!
i love it when d3 posts about russia, it's like the history lesson about RUS))) i never got
