In our version decals are handled using patches, floating them 1 unit off the ground is the technique we use.

Played the demo in the office today, seems okay. Control scheme scared me though!

Absoloutly love the mirrors' edge stuff and a fantastic portfolio overall.

looks great - love the wooden shack in particular

Hammer and radient are very similar apart from radient is completely manual when it comes to portaling and also features patch meshes (for making curved walls / pipes etc).
A version of radient with Hammer's texture allignment tools and displacements would be fantastic.
Anyhoo you should be able to go from hammer to radient and vise versa pretty easyily although I would reckomend getting to grips with hammer first as radient's interface isn't very begginer friendly.

cooped the demo on expert with 4 guys in the office, good fun. Ordered physical copy today, really just getting it for the sdk though

This was my favorite - the car looks like it's been placed

The environment is nice, character - not so much.

On the fence as to whether to buy it. From the demo it feels pretty average, the repetition in particular being a factor.
I think it could be pretty great to make a level for though so I may end up being it for that reason alone.
