Still in hospital due to complications. Things are improving.... slowlyNothing serious at all?
Hi Puddy.
Get well soon mate!
Thanks man, got a second round of surgery this Sunday and things have been improving rapidly since.
Being in a hospital 3 weeks straight has driven me bonkers though.

Clarify Puddy. If you know of any examples where mods got banned even though they were totally legal I would love to know about it.
They're not against it and welcome it if it is done in a legal way, they just don't supply the tools. That's not the same as opposing it.
Well I think that SDKs, the Steam Workshop and such things are signs of "embracing" modifications imho.
To me, EA's policy seems to be to tolerate mods, at best.

I think they're supposed to be actual players, hence the non chalantness. Threw me off at first as well
This.
Game looks great, I'm curious to see how it plays. I think it will feature survival elements and mild permadeath. I mean, we saw stuff like water bottles! Also they call in an extraction at the end that's on a timer. My guess is that when you succesfully extract all your gear is saved or something like that. I mean the chick player also mentioned that the rifle that was picked up is good and "shouldn't be lost".

Just to clarify; by open I don't mean long sightlines. What I mean is that this map's routes seem very interconnected and quick to navigate between, unlike regular bomb defusal maps where they are separated and connected only via very specific choke points.
-
Looks like a good start with a very distinct theme.
My gut tells me that it won't be much of a Bomb/Defusal map if you haven't designed the map with that game mode in mind from the very start. I recommend balancing it for CS or Demolition since those two game modes allow for more "liberal" layouts (especially demolition maps tend to have very open layouts).

- Source Engine. Building new engine = too much time.
- Source gives them 60 fps

Did someone just accuse Game of Thrones of having no arcs?

Okay so I did some massive research on this matter a while back.
First, never buy "pc-speakers". They are usually a bad investment (both expensive AND subpar audio quality). Now, with those off the table you can select two approaches: regular hi-fi speakers or studio monitors. Hi-fi speakers are designed to provide "oomphy", enhanced sound while studio monitors are designed to give you accurate, neutral sound without modification.
As I tend to listen a lot to music I chose the studio monitor approach as I want to listen to my music as-is without "enhanced" sound. I bought a pair of Yamaha HS50M's but I was also considering some sort of Genelec speaker. These brands are the ones I recommend. So far I have managed without a woofer but I am considering getting one now. Bands like Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy and The Kills sound fantastic even without a woofer as you get crisp, clean audio and the tracks generally don't have a lot of bass, so you're not missing anything really (by bass I don't mean bass guitar). But modern electro and stuff like that kind of requirrs a woofer to be enjoyed fully.
Without woofers the speakers are quite cheap, around 250 quid if I had to guess. But the woofer is an additional 450 or so. I can go into more detail if desired.

hehe, i'm actually trying to do my eyes a favor guys by only using one screen.
also, i don't think us non-artists need dual monitors as much tbh
