or.. just add brush beams with damage
I don't think the hole looks real though - you should have a look at some actual damaged buildings maybe :x

Been playing farcry1 this weekend. Really impressive game, nice engine too - the level designers should have been shot for some of their retardedness though S:

No, I prefer some action and some answers. Not some muppet on a raft for several episodes shouting Walt. Or watching people stand around a hatch for an entire series and then when they open it (next series) they find nothing interesting inside except a computer to stand around in much the same manner.
QuoteAgreed - I watched three or four episodes after a friend talked the show up to be amazing.
I got the idea behind it within the first 30 minutes but was sucked in for another 3 and a half hours. Lost does that, it sucks you in with it's retarded cliffhangers - dragging out things for 10 times longer than they should. It's pathetic. And it's a shit series. The game looks crap too.
mhm looks fantastic but gotta agree with the gameplay comments - i never liked the game much anyway.

Quote from buddy the designerLol yeah, right Rick, these look just like tiled photos from cgtextures, that's totally wrong way to approach stuff, "hi guys I made these awesome textures (cgtexture photo, cropping, offset, stamp)"
don't get me wrong, I have rinsed the cgtextures photos no end, but I find they are becoming like the HL2 texture set - you see them everywhere and they get boring.
it takes 5 minutes to tile a photo and run it through crazybump; but I really like Method's approach - take a reference shot, get photos and create a texture based on a reference using various photos. You'll end up with some really nice stuff that isn't instantly recognisable as "from so-and-so texture site", and fits your project much better.
If you are just doing stuff for practice then tiling a photo is sort of ok if you have the perfect photo for what you want but that isn't always the case eh ![]()
the game is still meh, i didn't liek 4 ![]()
looks wicked tho
Is it mostly a single mesh? Because it looks pretty messy if it is ![]()
QuoteSome of the high poly vehicles like the Humvee are well done, 6k down to 1.5k

and if I had more time the tanks woulda been done too.
the problem I noticed with the models, hummer in particular, is the texture usage, instead of a single (or even two or three) 1024's it's got dozens of small textures and they add up to something really stupid like 10mb. Now you have a few dozen models with that kind of waste and you'll eventually end up with a laggy mod ![]()
that looked fucking awful, the gay floor humping and the lame little robots and the barrel.. wtf is with the barrel.
I have lost all faith in the japenese, they should stick to making panty vending machines and stop making such utterly gay games in such wonderfully original locales as "the middle east"
hmm, this thread had 1 page yesterday, and it was generally about garry. now it looks like it is about insurgensee? jeez guys can we go back to sucking garry's art hole? ![]()
First one was cool, but seemed too generic in terms of storyline - 2 has a wicked storyline that really feels like a 24 series (nukes terrorists and chasing after elusive bad guys).
Don't get me wrong, it's an enjoyable game and I don't regret buying it - but it could have been so much more; the bugs are annoying as hell and the artwork whilst repetitive is very well done.
I'm tempted to buy 1 just to have a fresh comparison in my mind. But If I really wanted an impressive GR game I'd get the original series and the addons.
I dunno if GRAW1 has co-op storymode but GRAW2 has and I really want to play it with some friends, because I can see it being very fun with team mates that actually have a thought process that includes the term "don't get shot".
