Only watched the first half of the Eng-Swe game and all I can say was Joe Cole's goal was the best of the tournament so far, unless the other England goal and Swedens first were better.
I saw the Swedish equaliser and good lord bad defending by England.

Some good angles there.

Just a mud texture blend, plus one of the stock HL2 waters. The bridge is accurate dimensions in width and length (within 12") and not checked the height but it seems right. The pic you posted Bic isn't the original bridge.

France are gonna go out in the first round, again

Those of you who are into WW2 should recognise this, lots or work to do. Going for a pretty much dead on recreation of the area, have every single pic on the net of it for reference as well as hundreds of ones of the area now, ones from period books, french resistance reports and intellegence/recce maps.

lol, first ever organic model attempt (4th lesson in XSI, first was a blob walk cycle, second a lamp, third a Nissan Skyline), I know where it all went wrong and I don't care

Whislt its a great job, I've never been a fan of London. Big smelly city, but I guess thats where all the jobs are. Its a 2 hour drive from home, 4 hour train from Uni 'tut north.
Good luck, 75% of the city is over the legal air pollution level

Talking to Nexus is much, much worse.

3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.
The only time you don't get 1 point is in quarter or semi finals and the final. In which case you go into extra time (15 minutes each) way where depending on the rules its whoever scores first wins, or whoever has the highest score at the end of the time, if still drawn then its a penalty shootout.

Nice, I took this pic with my cheapo £50 point and click whilst halfway up a rock face climbing, at 10:30pm

I meant no code updates for a year, lacking things like HDR, a decent non buggy code base and VS2005 support.
-
To be published don't you need a full source engine licence? Thats not cheap.
Edit: Oops, didnt see when the last post was. Either way whats happening here?

Its probably (almost certainly) irrelevant but I like it anyway, Blast Corps for the N64.
"Thats not a sniper/rail level"
True, but the objective is set on a track and cannot deviate and you have to clear the path for it via any and all means neccesary.

Valve havn't done an SDK update in months, if not a year. We need the backend code for all there new stuff like HDR.
They keep pushing back the date of updating it, sure it was originally gonna be updated with DoD:S release...then a few weeks later..then maybe before Ep.1...now who knows.

Quote from D3ads
First time I've come across this guy but already I dislike him

Yeah, I know plenty of people like that. I loved how Squirrelly asked him what skills he had and he tried to avoid saying he doesnt have any.
Edit: IMO a project lead should at least have a basic knowledge of every aspect of mod design. I'm the co-lead of Ham And Jam and primarily I map, but I did all the basic coding for the mod when we didnt have a proper coder and I have a basic understanding of modelling/animating/skinning so if someone has a problem, I can at least try to help instead of getting someone else.

Well we've been using Cinema4D at Uni so far, something easy to get everyone into the style of modelling. But now, XSI time. In years 2 and 3 you use XSI and so at the end of year 1 we get a little taster.
Last week we had a 3 hour lesson just learning the basics, basically made a blob man with legs and did a walk cycle. This week we concentrated on modelling and just did a quick 5 mins of HDR texturing on it to make it shiny...and so I present an extremely shitty lamp.

No idea how to do proper texturing yet, that comes next week so all my lovely work modelling the screw thread and fillament in the bulb is put to no good.
Well, its a start anyway.

Just came back from a talk at Uni from Bizarre Creations, makers of PGR3. Two guys came up to talk to us, both graduates from my course.
Cracking stuff, plenty of Sony and EA bashing as well as having a mess around with the debug version of PGR3 and a 360 Dev Kit.
Has slightly rekindled my enthusiasm for the games industry. The other reason they came was to look out for some people to hire and we got first dibs etc. Well not us in Year 1 but Year 3 folks.
iirc theres 6 3D Artists places, an audio guy and an animator up for grabs to work on "The Club"
