From experience, if you're gonna even try to do a Resident Evil based map, make sure it looks as complex as the game levels did.

Cool job KT. Although it lacks some detail the atmosphere is convincing. keep it up.

I think that is asking a little much when the games set in Raccoon City all used prerendered background Not that you can't give it your best shot obviously, but I think matching the complexity of some of scenes is a little optimisitic.

Q4 SP... early intro area of a little mostly walker-based map pack (3ish maps, most likely). Sort of an Air Defense meets Tremors theme going on...

the hand rail does look good, but are you using a flat plane with an alpha channel for the see through sections on the bottom part of the rail wall?

Not a flat plane - it's just a narrow brush with an alpha on both sides... it's actually two-sided; you can see a little bit of the other side poking through to the left. Might revisit it later, but really it's the least of my worries at the moment.

I'm not too sure about the texturing and lighting in the second shot, they don't mix too well together, especially the textures. Structure wise, I find it's a bit blocky, some angled areas at the bottom of the walls could look quite good.

Those of you who are into WW2 should recognise this, lots or work to do. Going for a pretty much dead on recreation of the area, have every single pic on the net of it for reference as well as hundreds of ones of the area now, ones from period books, french resistance reports and intellegence/recce maps.
