i agree with the lack of rewarding latest submissions!

  • Any tips or thoughts on good low poly model creation?

what moste people dont know, is that the DS textures are using color palettes. so there are different combinations to fill the memory. i doubt that the pottery store is really making use of this/simulating the palleting.

anyway: good lowpoly is imo the mix of being efficient in time and a visual result. that's a production centric view.

ok today something really pissed me off: i got a new machine at work and it is a DELL computer. i just wanted to plug in my monitor and.... BULLSHIT! they had a weird 2-in-1 DVI port that looks completely different than any regular DVI port does. i had to search for the adapter cable to separate the one port into 2. MAY I ASK WHY?

in gods name, why do we have standards when companies like dell act like racists and blocking non-DELL hardware. even apple is guilty of the same thing with the USB cable of some older keyboards.

even my wacom cintiq has a 3-in-1 cable that goes into a converter box. so there is no way i could possible get a longer cable except it ask directly at wacom and pay overpriced.

this computer racism is making me mad :ssj:

Well of course, she is freaked out by the fact you decided NOT to go to GC to hang out with Gabe and Doug but instead creep around her because she will be gone for "9 months"

Actually, don't listen to me, I'm just bitter

she is probably just busy with her relocating stuff and if you are not her boyfriend, then why should she care?

Can you ask Doug why he never replied to my e-mails?

Can you punch any Valve Employee in his/her face? They didn't reply to my emails either.

check for temperature of your CPU. bluescreens might occur when there is some cooling problem.

well its nothing special. its a knife. blaming source engine for phong shader is stupid imo. they actually use a good physical model of phong materials. hence it is up to you tweaking your shader. as i recall resistance and liberation mod has nice phong materials on their weapons!

woke up at 9 am. my mother and a french "dame" left for some sightseeing while i wanted to work on my bachelor thesis. i was supposed to get some photos on paper until monday so i had to get them printed before. took my bicycle to ride to the next place with instant service. after 2 hours i returned at home and started working. then from time to time there was some generic interruption. in the evening we left home to go eating in a fine brewery. while being there we saw around 20 stag night groups. in one of those there was a girl from my year at high school. so we had a small talk which was fine.

now i am back home writing on a nerdy internet forum.

that's why i said a lot of time CAN be spent on UML i also prefer hacking some code and then think again and probably tidy it up.

partially i agree with defrag: doing all this stuff in like 3-4 years won't make you a professional. but if this wasn't what you were looking for then it's fine! the first thing every so called programmer learns, is that actually typing code is only like 10% of your work. the rest is thinking of how to make a project come real. a lot of time can be spent in making UML diagrams.

anyway: i wish you fun with the course and that you can still find the time to advance in your spare time!
