Of course not. Us geeks can't physically do such things.

UT was a really fantastic game, but UT2004 is just perfect. UT2k3 was a bit of a bummer where they just focused on gfx, but in UT2k4 they got it about as perfect as a shooter can get. Everything from the graphics, to the music, gameplay, maps and everything was just one level above what most other fps games could deliver.

Yep, the back area is somewhat easy to recognize.

I can't agree. UT2003/4 felt pretty soulless to me; it was simply nowhere near as enjoyable to play as UT1 on a on-foot combat basis.

the remake was crap tho imo, the simplicity of the original made it alot better imo :Gstill, the original is one of the best maps to date

    I wholeheartedly agree.

It was more to do with the feel of UT compared to UT2004 though, rather than the map itself. 2004 just seemed 'wrong'.

Rotated geometry shouldn't automatically snap to the grid. You might lose your shape doing that. It's the one thing that would make better floating support welcome in hammer - beyond that you don't have enough building precision to be worth it.And wow, is this transformation box new, or was I just blissfully ignorant all these years? Never touched the damn thing.

Edit: added automatically and the following disclaimer that despite my comment of floating point support, I'm still probably one of the biggest grid nazis you'll ever find

The transform box has been there forever, you little nazi.

melee and movement are not the top priorities in the mod  like i said, the mod has been well-established for a long time. No chances of just saying hey, u know what, lets make a kung fu mod.

Well don't just roll your virtual eyes at him, clarify.

At the moment it sounds like soldiers will be using rifles like pugel sticks or something. It doesn't sound like the sort of combat you'd get in WW2. How exactly will the melee system operate?

I wish there were more out there.

Source mods and mappers need fresh texture sets like humans need oxygen.

another video of the map. A random nub joined as in ran the map from quark to test it. He was fascinated by the pithttp://media.putfile.com/nub89

Amazing. The black headcrab screech is an excellent final touch.

Well We will put you in many different environments that will bring you a different experience each map. We will bring a unique melee system that will focus on movement and other features. We will focus on team-play and an important thing in most ww2 games that is rarely done Jamming. I don't want to give you too many things as we want to keep them a surprise .

Well, there's a reason jamming is rarely done.

    In my opinion of course.

    Weapon media looks tasty, though.

there are several things in the new hammer that drive me crazy:1) if you use ctrl + m to transform something (rotation specifically) it doesnt put the object abck on the grid, it's always off by a quarter of a unit and i have to go back and fix every point if i forget to vertex manipulate-move the entire thing.

    2) the clipping tool never starts where you click, its always the next unit over, moving it with the grid is a pain in the ass

    3) if you use the apply texture and values, it only works once

    s;lkfnsadfnsadfjnsdf what the hell

    High five.

And they STILL haven't fixed this shit. Fucking hell.

Maybe the game opens up later, most opening levels seem to be a bit dire (maybe Monolith should have done a Valve and released something in the style of Uplink?).

The demo level is made up.

The game's opening levels are quite a bit different, according to previews.
