Thrik: Can someone please reply here and say no it isn't just gmail accounts, it's been happening since mid-november, and the account "Thrik" needs reactivating - http://www.mapcore.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7218
Yep, there have been occasions where people come on IRC to asking about the server not sending any activation mails to them.. and also i think there isn't any way to contact admins in case of such problems.

Take a screenshot of your Viewport or Set a material with "Wire" ticked Or Under Renderer in your Render window, force Wireframe. This looks a tiny bit confusing

What hessi said,
Yep, a dualcore should be more than enough. Intel's Core 2 Duos's seem be doing better than than the Athlon X2's. 2GB RAM should set you fine for the upcoming games and Vista.
People would say wait for the DX10 cards , I think the GeForce 8800 is just out and maybe you should wait for the prices to drop a bit. They're priced around 500-700$ according to Pricewatch. Use your existing card or buy a cheap Geforce 7'series card for the time being. Those 700$ priced cards will drop to half in a couple of months. Also no DX10 games around, so you might as well wait for them to start pouring in first.
Oh and if you aren't using a LCD screen, get one of those too while you're at it
! I know I'd like one too

I however would like to clarify that most 20" LCD and higher have a 8bit TN panels which give a better color representation. Also the 20" widescreens have a higher resolution. 1680x1050 as opposed to 1440x900. 19" are quite cheaper than the 20" and use the 6bit TN panels which would give you some banding.
If the price difference isnt too much, then without any hesitation get the 20" as long as its a 8bit TN panel!
