it looks decent, but the hl1 version had more of a "woah"-factor

dod:s maps have become so insanely boring.

they all look the same as far as textures, lighting, models, style everything.

No offence to your abilities to create a good map, but it's just so ... boring?

Well beyond any map criticism you need to take your screenshots at higher settings, there is no excuse to show off low quality screens. As for the map, it looks good but if you had put a little bit more time into the lighting and getting some more visually striking things in like fire and smoke and craters and chimney smoke - things that draw the eye you would probably not be getting as many complaints about the map looking generic or boring

It looks alright, it also looks like it is seriously lacking some z-axis fighting areas

    Don't you mean Y-axis?

    Quote from SnipaMasta

    Don't you mean Y-axis?

It depends on what system you're used to , like in Maya, default up/down axis is Y , in games it's usually Z (also applies to CNC-operated lathe\milling machines where Z is standard for up/down).

You obviously have skills but the map looks too generic. I've seen thousands of maps that look exactly like yours.
