HL:S is not a major graphical upgrade like CS:Source. The textures, geometry and maps are largely untouched. On the other hand, the conversion benefits from Source's shadows, physics and reflections.

it should automatically put a sharpen filter on the textures. also it should use a greyscale version of them as a bumpmap.

    that couldnt be too hard

No. Unless you want to wait another year for hl2. Your opinion is wrong, sorry.

why do the gamecompanys take so damn long to make 1 player model? Some amatures can make them 10 times faster, and with the same quality...

Actually, I did read the quote.. but as I recall, the quote didnt change any of the pixels in that image so it looked better... or something like that...

Its still ugly, some quote saying that its "not a major graphical upgrade" doesnt make the image look better...

infact, that kind of detailed water looks so out-of-place that its so creepingly ugly...

    get my drift?

it's just one screenshot, so let's not get all worked up over it.

i am actually interested to see how HL ports to source. i think it would help illustrate just how different (or not!) the engines are by seeing old engine maps in the new technology.

If HL2 has the majority of the HL1 enemies, I would assume HL source to have the remaining models remodeled as well.

If not, it would at least be using the high definition models from Blue Shift.
