    C) ...Did i mention Release date?

Not too impressed, the CoD games always had shit story because they were just telling little impressions of the war, so the game trying to incoporate a story just seems really silly. As for the graphics, I'd say its downright ugly. The open field portion with the sniper is hideous, STALKER looked better.

All in all this doesn't seem like a Call of Duty game... Infinity Ward appears to be trying to just create a totally new IP and use the CoD game for sales purposes. Heres to another mediocre shooter

I am surprised by the postive reaction to this.

Looks good in my opinion especialy the animations and gore effects (as seen in the uncut trailer and the leaked footage).

I hope the game has not over the top action like in cod 2. Less is sometimes more in terms of immersion.

And i hope the mp will be playworthy. The mp in cod 2 was terrible compared to cod 1.

I've kind of liked the CoD series so far. I haven't played CoD 3 , but if

it's anything like CoD 1 & 2 I would probably enjoy it. I'm not saying the

Call of Duty series is a masterpiece after another, I just find the games

enjoyable. The original Call of Duty especially had some mindblowing

    scenes (scripted of course).

    That trailer looks stunning.

Nice editing on the trailer! I have no idea what's going on, but I think you get to shoot insurgents of Arabian origin and commies so that's always a good thing!

No seriously, it's a nice movie, but I have no clue what the game is going to actually look like...anyone got more info?

Everything goes by so fast in the trailer its pretty hard to comprehend whats going on.

Has anyone even noticed the dog?

I saw some people that thought the dog was a dinosaur, haha.

    I did spot it, though.

    1) Some of it felt "pre-rendered" some of it felt like in-engine. Graphics experts here please help clarify. Either way, it was an entertaining trailer as FrieChamp said.

    2) I actually care more about the animation/physics than I do the texture quality and other related graphics. When I see characters move in ways that feel realistic it adds way more to the game than the quality of the ground or building textures, for example. That's why back in 1998 HL's skeletal animation system was so nice compared to the sprites in Doom and Dark Forces. (though Quake etc had 3D models blah blah...) They were a few cool moves like the one soldier kicking out the leg of the other...if that were a move in the game it could be pretty cool so looking forward to seeing that.

    3) Will it have a story...? Not all shooter games need dramatic writing or a coherent story. I'm less concerned about that. CoD 1/2 had weak stories but they didn't need strong ones because the backdrop of WW2 was enough glue. Plus BIA owns the "story" based WW2 gamestyle. But for CoD4 I'm guessing there will be some theme at least that draws the levels together, however it's possible IW took a different approach to the story than they did with CoD 1/2 because of the lack of WW2 glue. All we can do is speculate.

    4) Yes, Activision and IW is milking their brand. Just like Unreal was milked, Doom was milked, BiA was milked, Battlefield was milked.... why are we complaining about this? IW gets the credit for creating their original CoD (...and MoH) game so now the get to enjoy the success of it. We're not seriously going to give them crap for that are we? And now they are stepping way outside WW2 in theme at least. I give them props for efforts.

    5) If you are still reading...I can clearly see the influence of the CoD series in this trailer...intense cinematic war action and such. ....uh...I want more info on the game.

I'm not such a big CoD fan, but when I think of it, great animations and scripted scenes close to perfection certainly come to my mind.

Same as Freichamp. I've been enjoying the CoD series less and less with each iteration. However this looks like it would get my money. The franchise needed a makeover, and it looks like its got it. I hope it lives up to the trailer.

the guy with shades shooting people suggests there will be some retarded storyline in which you end up killing the 'bad guy' and thus giving some semblance of meaning or vision of an end to the war on terror: "look kids, there is a big ol' meanie out there and we can kill him just like in the video game!"

Maybe I'm too cynical but that's what I got from that sequence of events.

The russian/chechnyan (wouldn't it be funny if it was the same setting as INS except IW finished it xD) settings look very much like Stalker - and that's a good thing imho, they look great. Really atmospheric.

If this comes out on the PC I'll be picking it up, but I wouldn't trouble myself to buy a 3shitty just for a CoD game that doesn't happen to be set in 1945.

I would hope this is on both console and PC.

Meanwhile, notice that this game might actually be rated M given the launch site has an age gate that requires you to be 17 (yes i tested it). It's still RP but this could be where IW always wanted to go in ESRB rating.

With this level of ingenuity I wonder if CoD 5 will be set in the future!

The trailer looks good, but not enough "ingame" footage for my liking. All I can really tell from it is that the graphics look nice.

IW has clarified that they will be shipping on the PC. Should only be the Treyarch iterations that are console exclusive.

Also guessed an M rating based on the site; consistent with ATVI's sites for other M-rated titles (Q4 specifically comes to mind)

I think they could come up with the most awesome theme ever invented and certain people would still roll their eyes and say it was tiresome and/or predictable
