Call of Duty: Modern Warfare announced

Wow, twist of the year. I saw something about it earlier but just dismissed it as another WW2 sequel, and said as much in #mapcore.

Guess I was wrong.

Always was a open secret that cod 4 will be modern warfare. I heard about it over a year ago already.

It's a wonder indie games exist at all with all these creativity flowing from the big-guys.

Modern Warfare shooter is no problem to me. I still havent played one that i like (besides Insurgency off course ). So maybe cod 4 will be the one.

I want to see like a real dirty real wetj bosnia serbia yugoslavia game. I'm talking atmospherics done well.

wait didn't they announce this already have a year ago i remember seeing concept art of modern day cod stuff ?!

i'm eager this will be released, so i will not download it and not playing it

I'm pretty certain this was announced or at least "generally accepted rumour" ages back too - I was sure I'd read CoD3 was going to be console only and the last WWII entry, while Infinity Ward worked on CoD4 in a modern setting. I've not played any of the CoD games through (really don't have much interest in WWII as a theme for some reason) but I'll keep my eye on this one.

I guess I just kind of zoned out from CoD as the wave of WW2 titles kicked into full swing (not just CoD). It got a bit much as although I've always enjoyed the theme, it's not something I want in every fucking big-budget game.

Fortunately the trend seems to be coming to a close now.
