Since we won't be selling it and you can currently download the open source engine as-is right now you'll all be able to download it for free.

Actually because of the 4th of July weekend it was put on hold until today. Tom and I are working on it tonight in fact. Sorry for the delays

Coding it, yeah. The biggest hurdle thus far was switching to md3 model support (animations, etc) and now that that infrastructure is there it's smooth sailling.

I can't believe I missed this thread. This is such a cool idea. Any chance of helping out at this point? Mapping old-school would be fun as hell.

Sure, I suppose it's open to any and all.

If anyone knows a programmer skilled in the old ways or hell, just skilled in general, could they forward them to me? I'm sick of dealing with Tom flaking out on me every night (he did so again, tonight).

You said you removed the caps on texture sizes and such, does that mean file sizes or resolution?

    I hope you meant resolution

Yeah, rez and file size caps are toast.

Also, are you sure about ctf/symmetrical layouts? With the whole dispenser thing I was thinking not so symmetrical maps like avanti would be better.

I don't know, I guess I like capture point/objective style gameplay more than ctf. It would create oppurtunities to hide the dispenser from the other team (I'm guessing they can be destroyed) in strategic strong points on the map like bunkers and ruins and stuff. And if you went with capture points, it might be interesting to have the dispensers only deployable in these points. I think this would also make sense if you are going to include those bombers. But whatever, your the boss

I love silly mockery mods. If you want, you can use my sawed off shotgun and tommy gun models I did for q2.

I just gotta polish them slightly and give them g_ models first though :I
