    Next beta within 2 weeks

Lately we have managed to get many old and nasty bugs fixed, often with great help from the community. We truely appreciate this help as it has really made the beta 1.1 release much closer.

We do now have a fix for every critical bug which we know of ready in beta 1.1. The only thing we have left to do is to get it all together and ensure that no new bugs has popped up.

    New map: SoW2_Abandoned

Below is the pictures of the new map in beta 1.1 SoW2_Abandoned. It takes places at a dryed out submarine harbor which now serves as a CoDe outpost.

More pictures of it can be found in the SoW2 maps section in the screenshots area of our site http://www.sandsofwar.net.

    Test lead position avaible

As you could read in the last newspost we are currently seeking LOTS of new developers. Now a new position as leader of the beta testers team is open. Most of the other positions are also still open.

We want someone who can lead our team of beta testers and help to improve the quality of the SoW2 releases.

    SoW2 server up

The Deadclan has opened a 20 man dedicated SoW2 server. This is very nice as there haven't been a stable dedicated server up for months. This should ensure that you will have a server to play on when we release 1.1.

We do not recommend to play beta 1.0 for now as a CSS update has caused player model problems in SoW2 beta 1.0.

Looks interesting, I'll surely give it a try when it's out.

Oh nice. Those pics looks like a great improvement graphic-wise since the previous pics I've seen.

Woohoo, it's like ctf_november all over again (I mean that in a good way!) Keep up the good work, hope things go smoothly for you so you can get this beta out the door.

Phillipk, yeah this new map is probably the best one visually. The other maps are all receiving upgrades, but still I must admit that I can't beat that one.

Posty, more original stuff is in the works, but we lack the manpower to make it properly. We are doing what we got the resources to do, which is primarly smaller bugfixes and improvements like the ones you will see in 1.1.

Rd, yep Bluestrike is Ass. Lead Level Designer on the team:) All maps are currently created by him and me.

After some months of development we are now done as promised with the next beta of Sands of War 2.

Among the best new features in this release is a new map called SoW2_Abandoned, which you could see in our last newspost. This new map is of a very nice quality and all of the existing maps have also been improved.

The focus of this release has been polishing and bug fixes. Our first public beta was released quite early in the development, so it logically contained a number of bugs. With this new release we have fixed a lot of those.

We are in need of some sites which can mirror our release. Please contact either Necsus or Zacker on the forum for further information.

We will edit the newspost on our site, http://www.sandsofwar.net, with info about the exact release date soon.
