My normally sane father whipped into a frothy bout of insanity after the 2000 elections.
Dad before elections: progressive, interested in learning, Christian but not nuts. Reads books not from Christian Lifeway stores and used to talk to his two sons about tolerance for all people of all races, religions and sexualities.
Dad after elections: spiteful, bigoted, fundamentalist Christian who thinks that blacks, Mexicans, Vietnamese and well, anyone who isn't white is trying to destroy America. So are all the religions that aren't his. So are all the sexualities that aren't heterosexual. He doesn't read books anymore unless they're from Christian book stores. He can't talk without screaming and frothing.
What the hell happened? I want my dad back. Bizarro dad sucks.

years ago i witnessed my mom chasing my brother around the house and she fell down the stairs. when she reached the bottom her shoulder went through the wall. I dont think i've ever laughed as hard as i did.
