Same for me. The texture quality is at low res as well argh

Anyone know how to switch to old hammer ? Uninstalling - reinstalling ? :S

Just remove "-beta sdk" from the target line and restart steam

got it working when i restarted steam this morning. some really nice fixes i must say, they have finally fixed the clipping tool (when used with the grid at 1 it would always snap to the gridpoint next to the one you clicked at) this saves me tons of time

    (edit)

is there any information on what has exactly changed?

Just remove "-beta sdk" from the target line and restart steam

    Then hammer won't work

I can't get rid of this shit, I deleted the sdk local content files, restarted steam without the "-beta sdk", reinstalled the sdk (twice btw) and it installs this new hammer :/

Another thing that bothers me in this new hammer is that skewing is not snapped to the grid anymore.

    'Skewing tool'? What?

Anyhoo, chances are Valve are aware of it. It's a beta after all.

anyone else notice that when you have a brush selected and cick the corner resize blocks it no longer switches to rotate mode?

that and they fixed the ctrl m window, the z axis used to rotate in the x/y screen

And the yellow face-dragger in vertex-mode doesn't snap to the grid, and the fact that you can't move around in 2d-view with the arrows while in vertexmode. And that the quakestyle spectator-movement gets locked now and then, forcing the user to press z a couple of times.

I guess that's what you get for taking on a Beta

Still, the comeback of the shaded 3d-view is very welcome, now I don't have a headache after 1 minute of using the editor.

Rotating objects on the z-axis SHOULD spin an object on the XY plane - sounds to me like they introduced a new bug if it no longer does that.

Yup. If you want to know how a rotation on a given axis will affect your selection, just imagine the axis is a pencil you just jabbed into the selection, then you're spinning the pencil around.

    Stupid question....

But are textures suddenly stretching when I stretch an object in a 2D view?

Thsi happens whether the Scaling Texture Lock button is pressed or not.

    Before:

When you open the texture window.

Do you see some number change of the scale ?

Because this is very weard :s

the stretch but only when you are actually scaling them. The flip back to how they were once you release it

Yeah it wasn't snapping back...but I just restarted Steam/Hammer and it works fine now.
