Your sculpt needs a lot more structure. here is a image that show al the different parts of a face that you have to keep an eye on. (pic made by ravenslayer i think)

When you structure is in place, you can edit the base so you have the right proportions of your characters face. And then some more detailing.

Thanks a lot, that really helped. I already knew about the 'planes of the face', but was struggling to do them properly. It's also hard with this head because a lot of the underlying bone structure is hidden by fat, so I sorta ignored it. Tried to incorporate it into this model a little more. Here's an update, don't wanna take over the thread!

Right now I've been on Easter break and have decided to start on a scene, so I've started modeling the pieces I want/need. First off is a Humber Pig APC, mostly MKII but is a bit of a mish-mash of references really, picking the bits I thought looked best.

First vehicle I've ever modeled, and probably the first time I've really closely followed references so going has been a bit slow. Still got some smaller details to add and I'm going to model the rear interior.

Looks good, except the tires, which seem disproportional, even after looking at a picture of the Humber Pig.

Tires look pretty close to the right size to me, but the wheels look too small and the hub looks too big, both in diameter and height. Also the hub is more perpendicular(straight sided cylinder, not as tapered as modeled)

I am calling this almost done as I have got to the point where I hate the model and texture. But I do need to add some more polish and shit.

Also fucking perspective making the front look bent.

    Thanks!

I'll start to set up materials for a good render. For now, realtime:

The detail on the strings is incredible. The ends especially. Wow.

Only thing is the reflective surface is reflecting .. but it doesn't look like a surface that reflects. The material looks matt, instead of glossy.

lol, you got some ego! Why don't you give us some more info about it, instead just posting a pic and saying it's 3D?

oh and use a HDR map on the environment, it will help the reflections.
