The normal map is too noisy!

You were right, He had to tone down the normal map

The rts scene there looks great nooba. Are those hl2 textures? especially the rock texture there reminds me of stock hl2 textures...

Im up for a game generalvivi, just get in touch over msn

a postcard stand i'm making for a map (100% self-illum). it goes from about 3900 faces at lod0 to 1600 at lod3, but they'll be in an enclosed room so polycount isn't too important.

also, i've been having collision mesh problems with a few models, including this one. the collision mesh keeps compiling 90 degrees to the model, even if i go into max and rotate it to the correct angle. model viewer isn't working since i upgraded which means i have to load the sdk and open a map to check if it's worked, so i'm wondering if there's a reason it's doing this:

I had the problem with 90 degree rotated collision meshes, I assume you're in max so go into the edit pivot thing for both your main and collision mesh and make sure they are both at exactly the same point both rotationally and positionally

It was just too intense, I left the "noise" exactly the same just toned down power.

toning down power is something i have to try to do in my everyday life.

it's just part of the burden of being a superhero, i've grown kinda used to it.

rick, n00ba, defrag and 0rtho, nice stuff.

0rtho that rack is mental, what an original thing to model, gj

seems to be quite a lot of detail at the tip of the gun that the player will only actually see maybe 30% of the time

mhm it looks nice but after X models the blue/gold is starting to get old, try mixing up the colours a bit? Especially as it's mostly just grey
