Snipa, I still think the metal doesn't looks like a metal, focus on something less cloudy and more solid, and put scratches of lines and dents..

Agreed, also why is there a Union Jack on it when we don't use that vehicle at all?

It's a game set in the 'near future' and it's just got to be accepted that Army vehicle loadouts have changed. The same reason that the UK team has a HMMWV instead of a Iveco LMV

    Pretty much finished now

Looks much better, still a bit sharp and contrasty, but better. Add some soot down the side near the muffler, like this:

    Something for my latest map:

Still to texture the crane, but it's unwrapped:

    (purple box is player size)

I'll probably add a cabin / stairs to it as well as a separate model.

yeah the map looks cool to. that brushed crane looks retarded though and I see A LOT of BIIIG walls, the textures get to repetetive..

I think some support beams and detailed walling will do the trick ..

or you already knew this.. ^^

Big milling companies tend to have big repeating walls, I know I still have to add some more detail, But I want to get some playtesting on it first and see how the map works before I do some more, cause if the gameplay doesn't feel right you'll have twice the more work to edit it. Here are some shots of milling companies, as you'll see it looks somewhat like what I made:

Big repeating walls is what they usually are. But I will add some more detail to them eventually.

If your map is going to be of that size conserve the resources and time, repeating textures inst a big deal. As long as the game play is fun, no one will really care.

Rubbish little model I did in a mess around, might use it for this group project we're doing at Uni, have to model a roman fort anyway.

for some reason i feel like you could have gotten away with the same look by just using a 512 x 512. BUT! practice makes better

It's been a long time, but I've been able to sit down and do some work on my personal project. All of these are without normal maps. I'm getting my hands on Mudbox pretty soon so I'll be able to play that and see how they turn out.

I'll probably never use this in anything, but I found some references for an Sdkfz 10 halftrack a few days ago and decided to try modelling it. It's ~6100 faces unoptomised, and I need to redo the front wheels but other than that and unwrapping it's finished:

looking really nice. get this baby uv mapped and i will make a tutorial on how to bake textures so people can easily texture it

though i like the ww2 setting. gives you a lot of possibilities in leveldesign and art.
