The eye IS super shiny atm, just not enough shit to reflect.

Its going in the face of an orc, but I'm repainting the iris and shit. The sub surface is really basic right now, havn't had time to play with it. This is a couple of hours of work now.

    tomdom:

That looks very nice, but normal map makes it a bit blurry.. Ofcourse that can be because of this crappy monitor (im at school atm.)

Another thing for my Russian themed uni project. Its around 600 triangles and has a single 1024x1024 texture.

Kinda blurry texture, windows are repeating too much etc. :S

But I love the design of the building.

Its to low res for real game work yes, I agree, except this is going to be in a video clip. Its for a uni project, my group an I are making a trailer for a pretend game. Our game is set in the USSR, its meant to be a huge open free roaming environment. So the buildings are all relatively simple. clearly the texture res is not high enough for real game use, how ever its only going to be seen with other buildings as part of a short 30 second clip.

Flip the UV's on every other window to get some variation there, at least.

I get what you're doin tomdon

That looks like it'll work well especially in a scene with like a lot of buildings all varied like this.

First thing that came to my mind was "that is way too dirty", then i noticed it was russian themed.

Great job there. Like SnipaMasta already told, flipping the uv's on few of the windows might be a good idea. Looks like you got pretty much detail for a single 1024x1024 texture, nice work

I'll add to this thread aswell, i've been working on a replicant of the 1971 movie "Duel" truck + trailer (togheter 10.331 triangles) total of 3 models, tires/truck/trailer 2x1024*1024 and 1x512*512.

Very nice work, Wesley. However, it seems to me like the tires are covered in moss It doesn't seem like very realistic tire-wear/dirt.

The windows are pretty much me being lazy, I did the entire models unwrap and texture in one sitting, so just wanted to get it done. All the windows have there own uv space as I baked the skylight in. So I just need to go back and change each of the windows to make them not repeating .

    *edit*

That truck is looking great, only real crit from me is there is a lot of similar shades of brown. How ever I don't know what the original looked like, so you may be staying true to the source.

Thanks, heres a pic of the last remaining truck of the movie (there were 3 build). I'm using the original truck as a reference (the one that crashed in the end). So there isn't much references to be found except then to watch the movie frame by frame (which is what i've been doing most of the time).

Looking at those, I would very slightly reduce the saturation on your rusty bodywork. Other than that top notch stuff .

highpoly (left) is ~51,5k tris and the lowpoly (right) is only 46 tris

next up is a texture and a better render

edit: better renders + tri count
