    looks good.

hmm, it feels odd saying that about a urinal.

the urinal, so many times has it been done by so many people, yetstill I ignored the fact and made another one. This time it's low-poly.

Now all I need to do is unwrap it and skin it. (possibly a normalmap also)

i dont like how you spent so many subdivision in the depth but its main shape is still really boxy

create those red subdivisions and give it a rounder shape.

meh, only 3 more models and that stuff is done and im finally relieved \o/

um its like a "door" that closes a rounded walk-through, underneath will be an accessable ladder that im about to texture next...

    thanks

just finished the ladder texture. so that round thingie in the above post is the top of it and can be (supposedly) opened/closed if the mapper decides to do so

    anyways here's the pic:

This is clearly going to come out wrong, but I love your wood.

the wood on the circular lid looks too sharp imho

also a slightly desaturation of the color could do wonders too

That's exactly what I liked about it. Reminded me of some HL1 western mod (wich was very good btw).

i think that oversharped look comes from the catmull rom render mixed with the jpeg saving settings. looks alright in editor view

Original Sprite is from TekWar, which is also used in City Terror / City Terror 2 modifaction (for Duke3D) by Highwire a.k.a Rob Wijkstra that I'm helping out with, modelling wise. You can view the progress here if you like; City Terror 2 @ Alejandro's Mapping Centre

    quick question -

Is anyone else using max 8 and know of a good site with tutorials or exporters for getting my content in-game?

Ive searched for quite some time now and it seems like theres only tools and tuts for max 6/7, any help would be massively appreciated.

slicky max 8 isnt that much different.

You can even use max 4 tutorials even if you use 8.
