In the USA members of Congress, and most or all politicians, are not gamers. They grew up in a generation before video games. They don't value games or the sarcastic-don't-take-yourself-so-seriously gaming culture at all. So to me it's no surprise that the hotheads in Congress are going after video games with such ferocity. They have accepted TV and Hollywood and Radio, so they don't have this "I'm gunning for you no matter what" mentality the way they do with video games. Sure, the FCC went nuts after the Janet Jackson nipple thing, but that was a special case. I thnk all new forms of entertainment based on new technologies went through this kind of thing as this thread has already hinted on.
Oh, it was Hatians that sued Rocktar over Vice City...right?
