I wasn't even planning on building a hl2dm map until a couple weeks before the deadline, when I figured I might as well see if I could whip something up. I did send in a layout-complete build to Valve but I recently heard there was some problem with the submission. Oh well, no matter.

Pretty much all the work since then has just been prettying it up and balance tweaking.

Finally got around to taking a look at this ingame, and oh my God, it lives up to the screenshots and then some! Really really impressive level, and runs like a dream considering the detail level. Incredible job!

I've just had a playthrough, and indeed, this is truly brilliant.

Excellent texturing, layout, lighting and geometry. It's hard to give feedback when the positives firmly crush the negatives into submission.

All I can think of, is that the light_environment's ambient lighting gives all models a slightly weird light purple shadow - perhaps a more neutral hue would look better - and also 1 or 2 graffiti decals appear squashed, betraying their human origin.

That's about it; it's easily my favourite custom HL2 map so far, and I wish you could have got it in for the DM competition. Ah well, great work!

I like it alot. The layout is pretty unique and the architecture shows alot of skill. The curved roads and texture work are very nice.

The only think I would object to is the "City 17" look it has. Granted, I understand those are the texture you have at hand for making HL2 DM maps, so this really isn't a negative, but I thought it was worth mentioning anyways.

    Good job.
