Great stuff, acting, the cinematography, visual effects, sound... all top notch. Go see it!

Saw the movie, liked it! Wouldnt be able to see it again, though. One trick story.

Nice, that's how to make a great space movie based on an awesome book.

The movie left out a couple of the most memorable moments of the book, and it only scratched past some things that the book covers pretty much in depth, but you can only cram so much content in a 2 hour movie, so it's understandable.

Phenomenal movie, go watch it, Ridley Scott's best since Blade Runner.

This was very good, but I would rank it below both Gravity and Interstellar. The film was surprisingly comedic a lot of the time, didn't expect that, but it worked pretty well imho.

Harry Gregson-Williams, my favourit modern composer!! I didn't know he worked on this, pretty fucking sweet.

Yeah it's pretty good. The first track sounds almost a bit Pink Floyd esque, love that guitar sound. However, the soundtrack in general hasn't really gripped me as much as, say, Interstellar.

Anyone else got obvious Alien inspiration in this movies intro? Both the music that's playing, and the way it shows you the logo.

The Martian - definitely enjoyable in a lot of ways. Interstellar had more wowzers, but it's definitely one of the best movies of '15 and of our 10s.

Despite having read the book before, I very much enjoyed the movie. The struggle for survivial didn't get across as much as in the book, but obviously they had to leave out a lot of the details. I do wonder though:

Wouldn't mind if the movie was 30min longer, the last part felt very rushed. But overall I really enjoyed the movie.
